It used to be that when I was given a choice where both answers mean the same thing I’d be annoyed at the blatant railroading. But because of Deltarune I now think of it as “well, my character really wants this to happen so I need to go along with it.”

And it used to be that I would think of the character I’m playing as being just a self insert, and would only ever think about how the choices I make will affect other characters. But because of Deltarune, I now think about how the choices I make will affect Ren. I’m picking more “selfish” options because I’m now just as concerned about Ren’s needs as I am about the needs of other characters. Even if it’s something I wouldn’t pick for myself, I want him to be happy to.
