Basically his rule was if you want to make the dialogue fast-paced, quippy, or the major focus, just use "he said," "she said," "he said" over and over (or "x said," "y said," "x said" for similar-gendered characters). The reader does not care - their brain is filtering it out (and only the writer is reading it as repetitive).

But this time, I suspect the doctor is trying to eliminate the competition.

And I'm so confused.

I expected something along the lines of "oh, we both came back to fix things, let's compare notes and do some serious scheming, so fill me up on what happened in the palace while I was stuck at the frontier". What did just happen?

1. The FBI's Famous Cases & Criminals archive (fbi.gov/history/famous-cases) has detailed breakdowns of real fraud cases, Ponzi schemes, and confidence operations. The language they use is clinical and precise, which is perfect for getting the procedural details right.

2. The FTC Consumer Sentinel Network publishes annual reports on the most common fraud tactics in the US. Great for understanding how modern scams actually work and what makes people fall for them.

3. The Smithsonian's American Art Museum has a free digital collection of forgery case studies. If your character forges documents or art, this is gold.

4. Court Listener (courtlistener.com) is a free legal database where you can read actual court transcripts from fraud trials. Want to know how a real con artist talks under oath? This is where you find out.

5. The Internet Archive's collection of old newspaper crime sections. Search for "confidence man" or "swindle" in papers from the 1920s through 1960s and you'll find incredible real stories that would feel too dramatic for fiction.

Bonus: The Psychology of Fraud section on the Association for Psychological Science website has accessible articles about why people trust, how deception works cognitively, and what makes someone a convincing liar. Essential reading if you want your con artist characters to feel psychologically real.

It's coming up in my feeds recently. There was a documentary about it or smth. So started watching it. And I'm torn.

The innocent me from 20, even 10, years ago just assumes it's another variation on the theme of a girl who doesn't know how to be a girl but in the end she will learn to be feminine, everyone will split into couples and live happily ever after.

The slightly more aware me would be SO annoyed if this ends tjis way. Eun Chan has both mother and sister who are very feminine. It's not that she doesn't know how to be a girl, she doesn't want to. And the thing is that everyone loves her for being the way she is.

The situation for now doesn't feel like what Save thd Cat calls "Fixing everything the wrong way." Nothing is wrong. It's fine. The only time anyone needs an update is when finally someone wants to take her to bed, and it doesn't feel like this is happening soon.

Also, there is an obvious policule forming. This doesn't feel forced or fan wishful thinking. This just what is happening. Especially the look on Yoo Joo's face , that was without mistake "this is who I was waiting my entire life".

Well, as expected the couples are getting more defined. I'm disappointed, but not surprised.

But, here is something I love about this. And it was foreshadowed, so I'm not surprised, but they could weir away from it easily.
