First one was trying to add criss cross spins, so you do the start of the criss cross and instead of crossing parallel, you pivot on your heel and kick forward so you're now facing 180 behind and then do it again until you're facing front again, and then criss cross down onto one hand, twist back to open chest and so front foot rests on back knee, then drop down again and straighten back leg in the crook of front knee. Twist inwards to free back leg and both feet are on the floor, and then push self back up to standing.

…..Second one sounds like a lot, but it's not. 😂

Next one was basically doing a tesoura lmao. Kick one leg forward, switch feet, step to the side with the second foot, then slide that foot back while you go onto your hands. then twist hips so your front foot is on your back knee. And then bring it back down again. Basically a tesoura and I was getting pretty fast with it lmao. Can also do it standing so you just put your stepping out foot behind your other leg and then twist hips that way. I preferred this because my balance was better and my shoes keeps sliding in the lower position haha.

Next cypher's footworks sequence was one leg bent, one leg straight forward while you're sitting on the bent leg, then spin on the straight leg and thread the bent leg so you sit with your legs in a v. Cross legs twice (while trying to move backwards at the same time but I don't think any of us managed that lol), and finish with legs bent at 90° angles with one foot on the other knee. Now can either put hand on closest foot and then roll onto back while extending that leg so you can place said foot back into same hand. Other variation is put hand on the further foot, thread closer foot through the circle, then hook straight leg back around other leg (i think) and move forward so you're on the flat of your foot. And then just put your hand on the flat foot and step out and also lifting the leg that has all your body weight on it. ……So I went w the first variation lmao. I was the only one because I think teacher said to do the second but. Fuuuuuck that lmao.

I had fun forward rolling into position to just land with my legs in the v position lol.

Last one was do any top rocks we covered. Do low kick outs, wrap kicking foot under other leg and straighten so it's a crossed v, and then draw same leg back into other knee so you do like a quarter spin.

I did try swipes but it did feel awkward. ….But I did try them and I know what i need to work now now!

Open session! Only 3 more experienced people showed up lol. I did get a lot of practice doing the standing tesoura move haha.

I was able to jump into the cypher too! 🥳 Buh. Okay. New plan. Possibly less pain and sorrow drills, and more trying phrases to the music or more connected movements. But also yeah. It does feel different practicing moves in my own corner vs even in a loose cypher of like. 4 people haha. I have way too many ideas I want to try out and then they all clash together.

But I did get to try a variety of different moves! :D

I remember being The Beginner so paired up with the beginner this time.

Meia lua de frente (p1), cocorinha into role (p2), compasso (p1), half step from role and then second step between p2's legs. Bring hands forward and then wrap other leg around same foot into tesoura to take down partner. Step over partner with inside leg and role out.

Biiig stretch of hands down in tesoura because I kept dragging my other foot across the floor. Snd role towards partner's head at the end or else you can get kicked in the face. 😅

I was called up as to do the class example after I was paired up with teach weeeeh. I assume that when teacher calls up someone not an experienced student, then there's something that needs Fixing. But people did cheer for the good example afterwards though. 🥺

I think the same variation of the sequence in last class? Meia lua de frente (p1), follow compasso (p2), hop back (p1), second kick (p2), vingativa (p1), pivot esquiva out (p2), compasso (p1), passo a frente into role (p2), don't put kicking leg down and rasteira/sweep the feet (p1).

Practicing double compasso! …. Fuck. This does feel bad. 😅 I need to bend my knees more when I land and while kicking for better balance, kick higher (again 😅 ) and adjust feet when I do the second kick because they're already twisted up when I finish the first kick.

Roda! Longer games since we had a longer class. Ran to get the pandeiro so that's - Oh. We're doing timings for when each instrument jumps in at the start. 😅 I didn't quite get where I was to jump in but I think I was able to adjust!

Practicing new songs the mestre taught us at our batizado. Teacher getting to the point where we aaaall lead each part.

…..Holy fuck. Nope, I cannot project my voice at ALL, wow. 😂 So it went, try to sing loudly -> what am I supposed to be saying -> reading the lyrics -> try do both -> NOPE. WIRES CROSSED AND NOTHING COMES OUT 😅

At least it wasn't nervousness stopping me as such, but just veeeery low experience to juggle multiple things at once.

Actual playing in the game was okay! I got to do aranha into compasso and people were happy about my headstand so it's progress! ☺️

We ended with a very small roda with people who were not playing instruments holding their arms out to limit how high you can stand. And the roda was maybe a person's length across the floor? So very tight. I was on the agogo at that point but I wonder if I'd be able to just stand up like usual lol.
