I have a multi-part answer for this one, based only on my own experience.

1. You have to be completely secure in your relationship before pursuing this lifestyle. This falls partly on her, as well. She should consistently give you reassurance that your marriage comes before anything. If there is any doubt about faithfulness (I mean dishonest faithfulness), I wouldn’t recommend getting into this.

1.b. If you’re fearful of an emotional bond forming between her and a playmate, set boundaries. Limit how many times she sees a particular date, control the environment they’re in, avoid hooking up with an ex or someone she knows and sees regularly.

2. Take inventory of your own insecurities. Any jealousy that comes from personal insecurities can be reasoned out and redirected. For example, it’s easy to question yourself if you start comparing yourself to the partners your wife chooses. My wife is turned on by tall younger guys with athletic builds, beards, tattoos and big fat dicks. I’m not a fat slob with a tiny dick, but I literally do not fit any of these descriptions except for being tall. Lol I could easily get jealous of this, but I realize that I fantasize about women who are nothing like her and that doesn’t make me want her any less. These are fantasies of hers and I want her to be engaged and aroused by her playmates. They aren’t replacing me in any way so I shouldn’t let it threaten me. I redirect this jealousy into more vigorous passion when I’m reclaiming her.
