This is such a great point. We all need to be mindful of how a lot of these laws are used for ableism. There are so many things we do that we don’t know we’re doing that was put in place to actively harm the disabled community. Like the way a lot of jobs require you to be able to lift 50 pounds even though it has nothing to do with the job.

Unironically the best part of The Batman was seeing him helping search and rescue at the end. So many Batman stories end with Bruce still as an outcast, perched on top of a gargoyle staring down at the destroyed city below him. That final detail of having him staying behind to help even after all the villains were taken care of was more of a contribution to the superhero film genre than anything else to come out of the past ten years.

the idea that bruce wayne’s ideal method of learning is to just find whoever is best at the thing and latch onto them for a while is so underutilized, though. i want to see more of, like. bruce wayne fucking off to join the rodeo, so he can learn the best ways to not fall off things and also hogtie other things. bruce wayne moving to hawaii to master surfing because the thought of not knowing how to surf in some kind of surfing emergency caused him a sudden panic. bruce wayne in the alps learning how to yodel. living with the amish to learn how to make a really good dresser. in the andes learning how to weave. going to florida to wrestle alligators and meth addicts and meth-addicted alligators. when will you ever need to know this, he remembers people asking, as he faces down killer croc with nothing but a net he had to make himself using a machete and a spare sheep.

seeing “balanced” takes on abortion makes me want to state for the record i love abortion. I love it. Unapologetically. I love all my friends who have had abortions and all the reasons they’ve had them. i love people who treat abortion flippantly I love people who have a lot of emotions about their abortion. I love people who will have only one abortion in their whole life and people who will have many. abortion is great, no caveats. Its not a moral quandary. if someone doesn’t want to be pregnant they should have safe access to rectifying the state of their own body

man i don't wanna hear about harm reduction anymore. we cast our ballots and we voted our harm reduction candidates in and the harm increasing party is still getting their way. like i cannot stress enough this is all happening under the harm reduction guy. harm reduction was basically his main campaign promise but the harm is still very much going strong and not being reduced
