The Deepest Sea - audio engineer & recording studio

Last december, Paul Beauchamp & me played a 15 minute impro set at Da Emilia - one of our favourite bars in Torino. After some engineering, mixing & mastering, our perfomance is finally available on Bandcamp: https://paulbeauchamp.bandcamp.com/track/dano-battocchio-paul-beauchamp-live-at-da-emilia

This was meant to be a preproduction, but it ended being the last recording session we had with Tutti I Colori Del Buio. We decided to release it anyway, one year after the band split. All the engineering has been done by yours truly.

2020 started in the best way possible. After doing a preproduction with If I Die Today, I went to Rome to do sounds for Hideous Divinity at their latest album Simulacrum release party. It’s been fun, also because I had the chance to see for the first time ever Malevolent Creation.

I’m leaving tomorrow for this tour, starting next saturday in Leeds. I’ve been looking forward to it since last summer, and I’m excited as a child on the first day of vacation. See you in a month!

Last October 4th Dogs For Breakfast finally released Suiru, the album we recorded and mixed last year. It’s been quite an unusual job because since the beginning the band knew exactly how they wanted it to sound and I’m particularly proud of the outcome because it sounds faithfully feral in relation with how the band sounds live. Brad Boatright mastered it at Audiosiege. 

Flying Stag, by Daniele Brusaschetto is finally out. I recorded and mixed it last year, while Brad Boatright @ Audiosiege took mastering duties. I’m pretty proud of this record, I’ve known Daniele since the late 90s, I was a teenager and he was already releasing awesome music. Doing a record with him twenty tears later has thus been something I feel like an achievement. Enjoy!

Tons at Heavy Psych Sounds Fest in Innsbruck, Austria.

Leaving in a couple days for this tour. I’m beyond stoked for it, couldn’t ever imagine I would end doing sounds for Minsk when The Ritual Fires Of Abandonment came out... See you guys down the road!

Last April Hierophant came to Deepest Sea and we recorded a couple tracks which ended on the 7″ now premiering on Cvlt Nation. Besides the title track, Spawned Abortions also contains a cover of Bolt Thrower’s Realm Of Chaos. The 7″ will be out via Unholy Anarchy Records. Listen to it now!

LaColpa’s debut is still gaining great reviews even after almost one year from its release. “A lacerating sound, minutely crafted during production phase” - I take this as a great compliment, thank you Rumore!

Last June 14th I did sounds for Low Standards, High Fives at Magnolia in Milano. Here’s a video of the track Distance By Connection from that night.
