a dashboard that shows posts from people you follow, newest first. that's it. no ranking, no "you might like," no ads. i wrote the query, it's one ORDER BY.

tag muting and tag boosting, so discover shows you what you actually want

an importer that pulls your old tumblr posts across, images and all, rehosted properly so they don't rot

and yes — adult content is allowed. 18+ site, gated at the door. that's not the whole personality of the place, it's just not a thing you get quietly deleted for anymore.

it is small. i'm not going to pretend otherwise — you'd be early. but every site you've ever loved was small first, and the reason they got bad later is that they got big for someone else's benefit.

It’s still pretty much just the barebones atm, but I plan to add more to it (bio, or link to shop when I finally set it up) when I have some time :>

It took me longer to connect the domain to WordPress than it did to hike the entire Appalachian Trail—Possibly an exaggeration—but only barely.

What's there: published poems, information about me, and my works in progress. I've got kids books that need an illustrator, fiction and non-fiction that need beta readers, and a whole host of other projects in the works.

News and announcements coming in a few days, but I wanted to get the foundation out there. Thirty years of looking at the world through through field research & trail miles, crocodilian eye shine & bear tracks, then microscopes & surgical loupes—now I'm figuring out what happens when you translate all that into sentences.

You know what wasn't helping? My old website. Confession: I am a terrible web designer. My site was riddled with inconstancies, weird templates, and a powder-blue color scheme that I think I copied from Douglas Rushkoff's website, circa 2008. Plus it was built on Squarespace, which never quite worked with my brain. 

So, with an assist from Claude, I went scorched earth and rebuilt it from the ground up. Hopefully this new version makes a little more sense and is easier on the eyes. 

Please check it out, and send it to all the people you know who could use someone who works on the edges of storytelling, technology, and audience participation. I've got room to take on a couple of new projects.
