I wrote a research years ago in high school for a history class but have not  written one recently. It’s different because I did not have to write  an annotated bibliography and I did not have to have as many sources. It’s similar because I still had to do research on my topic and find sources related to my argument. Something I have always struggled with is figuring out how to get my argument across to my audience. For this, I am having the same struggle because I don’t know how to convince my readers of what I’m trying say.

I had a really good spring break. I was able to go back home and spend some time with my family and also get some much needed rest. It went by way to quick but I still enjoyed it while it lasted.

I chose my topic while I as watching TV and I saw the commercial that I chose. While I was writing my paper I struggled with adding depth. The commercial I chose didn't really give me many options to expand on certain ideas because it was so short. If I could go back I would choose something a little longer to analyse so that I could go deeper in my evaluation.

Whenever I get stuck while doing a project or writing an essay, I just take a break from it and come back a while later with a fresh outlook on how I want to continue. This method always seems to work for me. When this happens, I usually feel frustrated and useless, so I know that’s when I need a break.

I don’t really care for the pressure to buy gift during Christmas season. I feel like the meaning of the holiday is sometimes overshadowed by material things. I like giving my family gifts because I love them, not because it’s expected.

I ‘close read’ for school assignments all the time but I also do it in my everyday life. For example, when I’m looking through movie titles on my tv searching for a specific movie that I want to see. For school assignments, I search through a text looking for a specific answer to a question while not really reading every word on the page.

I have always dreaded writing essays because I never quite know how to start. I want to work on becoming more confident in my writing skills, so that in the future I am not intimidated whenever one of my professors assigns an essay.
