Personal headcanon: She was a premie and has asthma, her birth was very touch and go for her and Gwen both, but luckily they survived.

Short Bio: Ness is a miracle child. Gwen was older when she got pregnant (on top of already having damaged organs from the explosion), none of the doctors were sure she'd make it to term, but they were able to keep them both alive. Ness is easily frustrated by how protective her mother is, not understanding until about age 8 why she acts that way. Ness doesn't know her father's or aunt Cass's past crimes exactly (they say they did bad things they regret and leave it at that) or about the fog and anything that happened inside there.
