|| CLOSED || Ares & Luca ||
Ares shirt still smells like smoke and pine and camp, the room too quiet after the fire and the noise, laughter that he absolutely did not mean to start. He lets Luca steer him inside as be grumbled more out of habit than resistance, boots kicked off with a careless thunk against the end of the bed.
The alcohol sits warm and heavy in his chest, not the usual dull buzz - this one works on gods. He'd have to have Dion thank Ari for him. He drops onto the bed sprawling at first, then turning on his side to grab Luca's wrist and pull him onto the bed. He tugs him closer until he can press against him, knee hooked over Luca’s leg like an anchor and his nose nudging warm skin at the side of his neck in a way that was distinctly different from when he was getting frisky.
There’s a quiet breath out of him, not quite a sigh but close enough. One arm curls fully around him and holds him flush, possessively even. For a moment, there’s silence. Just the crackle of distant fires, the sound of campers who hadn't gone back to their cabins yet, the steady proof of a mortal heartbeat under his cheek.
Then Ares speaks again, his voice a quiet mumble like he was falling asleep even though it had more to do with the alcohol than anything. “I’m gonna be so upset when you die one day.”
He buries his face properly now, nose tucked into the curve of Luca’s neck, breathing him in like that might make the thought less sharp. It doesn’t. “Didn’t mean for this,” he adds after a beat, quieter still - honest in the way he never lets himself be. “I’m good at leaving before it gets.. like this.”
