This is a live performance of the Led Zeppelin song “Since I’ve Been Loving You ” from their 1970 album ‘Led Zeppelin III’. This performance is from a concert from the summer of 1973 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The video was included on their concert movie 'The Song Remains the Same" released in 1976. This movie includes live videos of other Zeppelin classics such as “Stairway to Heaven,” “Dazed and Confused,” “Rock and Roll,” and “ Whole Lotta Love.”

The first time I got into Nirvana was middle of my sophomore year when I was at the height of my Spotify use and found their MTV Unplugged album. During junior year I got into them again and liked them even more partially because of this song. I was walking back from class and listening closely to the lyrics. I couldn’t get over how illustrative and poetic they were. As soon as I was in my room I picked up the guitar and figured some version of it that wasn’t what they played, but it was close enough. I just wanted to sing those words. I ended up covering it at my first gig. I played piano and gave it a jazzy solo, and someone played the guitar part I crafted for my cover of the song. It is a favorite among all the songs that I’ve performed. “Heart-Shaped Box” is from the 1993 album ‘In Utero’.

Again, one of my favorite artists covering one of my favorite artists. In addition, the founding member of the Rolling Stones (my favorite band) Brian Jones plays percussion on this song. Apparently, he also played piano on the track, but it was not included in the released version. “All Along the Watchtower” is a song written by Bob Dylan and was included on his 1967 album John Wesley Harding. The Jimi Hendrix Experience covered the song for their album Electric Ladyland which was released in 1968. Hendrix took the song to another level and made it legendary. When Dylan performs it, he often performs it as Hendrix’s version. He said that Hendrix’s version “overwhelmed him” and that when he performs it, it feels like a tribute to the late, great Jimi Hendrix.
