Well, I can’t say I know what your future holds because my mother is the one that’s more skilled in that arena, but I do know you Dolls. And you’ll be fine, you’re young, talented, and someday you’ll have costumes on Broadway. I just know it.

Mind writin’ all that in a recommendation letter? Could use the praise when looking for some kind of job. I just can’t believe how fast graduation came up! Seems like the start of the year was just yesterday. What about you? What’s ahead for you when you graduate?

I’m ready to peace the fuck out, ngl. But I still got two more years, unfortunately. 

Oh it ain’t all bad, sugar! Sure the homework seems a little daunting at times, but I promise that two years will fly by.

Easy, my future plans are as follows: be the world’s hottest castle-husband. That’s it, that’s the plan. If I have to actually do something else, then beats me, I’m all out of ideas. You’ve got a couple months, you could probably find someone to elope with and be my like ‘world’s hottest castle-wife’ friend. It’d be nice to have someone who gets me.

Sure, let me just post on my Matchmakr real quick that I’m lookin’ to be a trophy wife. Honey, I ain’t rushin’ getting married, no matter how amazing the title ‘world’s hottest castle-wife’ sounds. I’ll join your ranks one day though, sugar, don’t worry. 

It means you’re close, though! And close is a lot better than where we were when we started the university. Admittedly, when you plan things out by the week, a million surprises happen - I had senior year planned out by the day and it went entirely rogue - but I find it calms me, I’m sorry of it wouldn’t calm you! Making clothes sounds like fashion to me. That’s so exciting and specific, it’ll make finding work afterward easier than if your specifications were broad.

It is, but that don’t make it any less scarier. I don’t know, I guess seeing everything I need to get done and when I’m gonna need to get it done by like that is intimidating. I guess it is to a degree, but it ain’t nothin’ like you see on the runway. You really think so though? Because I mean, there’s only so much you can do with stage theater, right? I guess I don’t need to worry all that much right now, there’s still a little bit of time.

Dolly: Now, honey. How are we supposed to appreciate your face when you're not even looking at the camera? What am I critiquing here, exactly? The quality of the costume? Because sugar, I honestly could have made you a better one.

Scarlett: Uhhhh, I don't think humans are intelligent at all. I think we just measure intelligence off our base skills when all we've really done is ruin our planet. There are much more skilled animals even on this planet - like the lyrebird which has a vocal system so complex it can replicate the sound of a chainsaw perfectly. Mark Callaghan and Emmett Vadaros, off the top of my head. Who would you pod?

It’s kinda freaking me out too, just little bit. I mean like I’m totally ready for the next chapter, right? It’s just so odd to be thinking that this life is going to be pretty much over. Not counting having to go to grad school and having to get a job that could go towards my career.

Honey, hate to break it to you, but if you’re continuing school after this, you’re not exactly moving on to the next chapter. I ain’t going to grad school, so it really is onto the next stage for me, and I have no idea what I’m gonna do out there.

Eh, I dunno, real life is pretty great, it’s school that’s a drag. Spoken like a true grad student, but that’s just how I see it. But, it all depends on your folks and what you’ve got waiting for you afterwards. My brother’s gonna be the King of Camelot, I’m gonna be a badass knight, and Arden’s gonna… do whatever it is that she wants. Nice and easy.

Guess that’s just the perk of being royal, ain’t it. You already got a plan, but me? Just a simple girl from the bayou? I got nothing like that going for me at the end of this.

I’m acutely aware of it! But that’s because I have the rest of the year planned out by the week, or at least until the end of summer. Facing the real world after school is going to be terrifying, but it’s what we’ve been preparing for, right? I’m sure you’ll do excellently, Dolly. You were involved in some sort of fashion if I remember correctly, yes? Or feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

Preparing for it, sure but that don’t mean I’m actually prepared for it! It’s happening all to quickly for my liking. How you have it all planned out by the week is just amazing to me, though. Think I might actually have a heart attack if I had it all written down and staring back at me like that. Fashion is an umbrella term for it, I guess, but I doubt the fashion design majors would take kindly to you including costume design in that. It ain’t like my work is ever gonna be on a runway, after all. Mostly just exiting stage left.

‘Real ‘life’ and ‘the future’ are just concepts; they don’t have to exist if you don’t want them to. Life is happening always no matter what we do. I mean, by the age I am, I “should” be graduating with you, but I’m not, and you know why? Because taking the classes you want at the time you want without constraining yourself to any superficial time table is freeing. I suggest you try it. Plenty of time to still take more classes if you want. Studenthood always exists if you want it to, anything else can wait if that’s your heart’s desire.

Honey, you do realize that if you don’t graduate within a certain time frame then you’re not eligible for financial aid, right? I mean, good on you if you can pay tuition without it, but those of us that use it kinda need to go by their rules.

Scarlett: I KNEW IT! leilani Kelly telling me aliens aren't real but I knewwwww. Oh man. There are so many people who se personalities would best improved by behind podded.

Quincy: I know the movies, I'm just still reeling over how THAT guy is your celeb crush. Dolly! You're REALLY hot and even though he's famous, he's like a 5?!?!

Jimmy: See if I speak to you the next 37 times I make your acquaintance!

Sydney: Skating? Yeah! I tried to find something similar to ice skating that I could do all year round, but I got sick of trying to find roller blades that fit my feet right and just got a skateboard for a while instead. You should start with a gravity board! Those are a lot easier to feel stable on, even if they don't seem to be cool anymore.

Sydney: I don't know if my brother's like most brothers? On TV they always seem to find their sisters annoying and think they have cooties, but Kendall's always been one of my best friends. Although he DOES love to embarrass me, but it's more in a protective way than like an 'I'm tormenting my sister because I can' way.

Dahlia: I think I'll keep my feet firmly planted on the ground, thank you. I'm not really sporty, volleyball is like, the only sport I even remotely like.

No, definitely not. Even just peripherally being fed Bayou food all these years has made me spoiled, too. And I’m sure you’d get complaints about making it in communal kitchens from those of faint nose and fainter stomach. The smell does kind of linger, even if I think it smells amazing. Is Ramen even the food of choice for us these days? I thought that it was avocado toast…

Oh, yeah. Learned that freshman year after I made some seafood gumbo in there. That did not go over well with some of the other students. Funny enough though, they never seem to complain when it’s beignets... although mine are nothing compared to Auntie Tia’s, so joke’s on them if they think they’re getting the good stuff when they come hollarin’ for what I got. Ugh, don’t clump us in with the weird millennials. We’re cooler than that and their avocado toast.
