Very smart about facts and logic, great at planning, bad with people, not so good at reading emotions.

Missing her boyfriend, who is decidedly The People Person and also The Nicer One.

     She holds the raptor skull in her lap, gently fixing the golden feathers that are attached to it. Cleaning, rearranging—making sure they’re well cared for.

     One thing that Xayah refuses to admit is that she loves libraries. She dislikes admitting to loving anything, since her general I-hate-everyone-and-everything attitude takes effort to maintain. She does love libraries though; so much information in one place, and so much less light and noise than most parts of the city. The Great Library over in Cotes is a particularly beautiful place, massive and fantastical in a way that reminded her of the grand libraries back in Ionia. 

     The last time she’d been around here she’d been alone, and content to peruse the library’s contents in complete silence for a number of hours. This time, she both wasn’t alone, and was looking for something specific.

     A bird dangles in a snare, down on the ground. Xayah watches a moment, hidden high up in a nearby tree, as the figure below inspects her handiwork. 

     Damn. She’d been hoping that she managed to camp far enough from the city that nobody would end up finding their way out to bother her, and had only just managed to hide as the other approached. 

     She tries to clear her face before she goes confronts them, lifting part of her cape to wipe her face and straightening her ears. That she’d been feeling bad was a given; she’d found herself both displaced and very much alone, something which she hadn’t had to deal with in years. Missing Rakan, missing Ionia, missing... well, a number of things. She’d been trying to process without letting anyone see it, and since she shared her house, that was something too difficult to do back in the city.

     Trying her best to look like she hadn’t just been crying, she drops down behind the other person, near-silent as a hunting owl.

CAT ears? On a person? Like, this wasn’t a headband or anything? Now, there’s not something you see on an average Thursday! And this is coming from a Time-travelling ALIEN.  ❝Hey, I like your ears!❞ The Doctor compliments, like complimenting ears specifically is considered socially acceptable. …is it? Maybe? He doesn’t know.

 ❝Do you get many people asking if you can touch them? Errr… the ears, I mean.❞  

❝… I shouldn’t be among those hypothetical people if I want to keep my good health, huh?❞ That’s… good thinking, Doctor. Sometimes the Doctor has self-preservation instincts. ONLY SOMETIMES though. Otherwise he throws all caution to the wind, because hey, he’s a 900+ year old alien! What could possibly go wrong.    

      ❝ smart boy. ❞ It is always the ears that people notice first, and she’s starting to get the feeling that most people around here aren’t terribly familiar with the Vastaya. It’d be a little rude back home to ask about them, but she’s not sure of anything here. 

   She flicks both ears back for a moment, and then lets them sit in a neutral position.
