I work as a janitor and I feel like I’m gonna be thinking about this post a lot on the job

thinking about the recent discussion about charfrank... their dynamic in season 17 really feels like a reflection of amatonormativity & how aces and aros often have to deal with people who've been a core part of their life for ages entering a romantic relationship & immediately shoving them to the side bc that's what's you're "supposed" to do. and you're just supposed to accept that this going to happen eventually. but in their case it's like they were basically platonic life partners with no reason for charlie to believe that this would ever change and then it just. did. which is all to say that this dynamic just strengthens my interpretation of charlie as acespec.

By valid interpretation, there was a brief point in time where Charlie’s legal relationship to Dennis and Dee was literally “father-in-law” given he had a domestic partnership with Frank at a point where Frank was still legally the twins father (and tbh we don’t even know if he no longer is legally their father, all we know for sure is he wrote them out of his will)

do I ship charfrank? not really. do I have eyes and acknowledge what is happening on screen? yeah. they have canonically had sex together (orgies and threesomes) at least three times I can remember off the top of my head rn. they've been literally sharing a bed for two decades. is it romantic? not really. is it sexual? sometimes. is it platonic? maybe but neither of them knows what platonic even means. it's definitely extremely codependent. whatever freak4freak shit they've got going on definitely works for them.
