tired of google eating your writing? sick of word taking a bazillion years to open? tired of crashes and other hum drum bullshit? at the risk of sounding like an advertisement, ellipsus is a writing platform that butters my ass right up. it's lush, it's neat, it's customisable, it's good for sharing writing and writing on the go on any device, it's self-proclaimed "by writers, for writers", and best of all: the ellipsus team is very actively against generative ai.

We stand for creative authenticity. We believe that AI-generated content should not overtake human voices, and that LLMs in their current form are unethically trained and applied. Barring significant regulatory changes, we will never weave generative AI into Ellipsus.

writing on ellipsus means your writing will be protected from scraping and from becoming ai-food, which is something i personally appreciate a lot for obvious reasons. on top of that, they make an active effort to come up with solutions to the issues people tend to turn to ai's for. they just released a new update and introduced templates meant to help get you started. world/character building templates, story opener templates, emotional wound templates (???? like hello???), etc etc. good sexy stuff WOOO

it's in its teenage years/beta stage rn so all of its features are free, and it's being built as time goes on. the team has stated that there will always be a free version of it forever when they do eventually finish it in the future, so it's not a case of you losing access some random tuesday morning. i'm enjoying it a lot and their drafting and outline features are saving my life and my sanity
