One good thing about having a very large extended family is that it gives you examples of what different kinds of lives can look like.

I never thought it was weird growing up for someone to never get married or have kids because one of my uncles did that. I never thought it was weird to be vegan because one of my cousins did that. I never thought it was weird to have a mixed race family because I had cousins and aunts and uncles with mixed race families. I never thought it was weird to be divorced because several of my family members got divorced. And their ex husbands and ex wives still showed up to family gatherings. I never thought it was weird for a woman to have short hair and dress masculine because one of my aunties did that.

I kind of had to become the transgender cousin admittedly but you know what now I’m the transgender cousin and there’s an example for the younger generation that being trans is just something you can be.

Although the creator is very sweet, I personally believe that just saying "everyone is pretty in their own way" adds to the issue going on.

We don't need to be pretty. We shouldn't feel like failures or worthless bc we aren't pretty. Attractiveness shouldn't be accounted for in anything. It should just be something that exists.

I also really hate how the sponcers has something to do with makeup. Completely contradicting the whole point of her video. The makeup industry is one of the biggest reasoning to women's insecurities.

I think if your friends don’t like your S/O, it’s important to have a candid and vulnerable conversation with them as to why. Not saying they’re always right (they often are) but if you have a nondefensive, private no judgement conversation with them about why then you can usually tell if it is a friend problem or a significant other problem or perhaps a bit of both. ‘My friend doesn’t like my boyfriend because she misses the amount of time we used to feel together and has felt lonely since I got with him.’ and ‘All of my friends hate my boyfriend because he is heinously disrespectful to them and creepy when I’m not in the room.’ are too totally different ballgames and you can’t just decide which way the situation leans without asking pointed questions.

So many cheaters refuse to acknowledge that cheating on their partner will irrevocably change and possibly destroy their relationship with their kid. “Yeah, I cheated on you but that is no reason to keep my daughter away from me.” Your daughter probably does not want to see you because she now feels you are no longer a trustworthy and safe adult. If you’re willing to destroy her life, her mother’s self esteem and 20+ years of marriage for the joy and ego boost of fucking someone 10 years older than her, there is no guarantee you will choose her over your own pleasure in other serious situations.

They love to start playing the ‘parental alienation’ card when their adolescent and teenage children want nothing to do with them and/or their new partner after infidelity. A parent does not need to maliciously manipulate their child for that child to hold a grudge against the other parent for harming them. Even if the partner you cheated on isn’t the other parent of your child, it will still damage the way your child sees you and the respect and bond associated with that. When you cheat you damage your relationships with so many people in your life, not just the person you cheated on. Your children will also often see it as a betrayal.
