Usually I don't advocate for reporting people in this space, but this isn't acceptable. If I was someone who's more easily influenced, that could've been rly damaging. Please go report them!

Hey y’all I had a realization about mindset when trying to r3str1ct:

When I frame it in a negative way, I don’t see very good results, like binging, gaining, etc. What I mean is if I think “ew I’m so disgusting I don’t deserve food,” I don’t see the best results. Anything negative like that tends to hinder my progress.

In contrast, when I frame it in a positive way, I see good results. For example, when I think, “I love myself and I deserve to have the body I want,” I end up seeing numbers dropping the next morning, because of how motivated those thoughts make me.

I think the biggest component of my success when it comes to ⭐️ving is my mindset.

Anyone else relate??

I really wanted to go to uni this September but it hasn't worked out, for various reasons. So I'm learning online at home for the next academic year.

It just hit me that I passed up the chance to be in control of my own groceries and meals... now I feel so upset and frustrated. Not even just from a restriction pov, I want to eat less ultra-processed food to improve my health and body composition, but it's really hard when my parents have been lazy about cooking for many years. I wish I could separate my stuff from theirs and just do my own thing but practically that's not possible. I can't exactly have my own fridge and cooking space here. And it's not like I could even afford my own groceries without the maintenance loan, which you only get if you're going to uni.

I know I made the right choice in terms of future career prospects but I feel so trapped living here for another year and postponing my social and life skills development again.

ahahha i'm back! i stagnated recently bc of needing to be functional for college, but then some shit happened in my personal life and these past couple of weeks i've been semi-binging (people have different definitions lol)

obviously i feel awful now, rly panicky and desperate and out of control. i'm just glad I caught it before i got to the point of gaining fat (3500 cals above maintenance in a week to gain a pound of fat)

i'm not sure why i started slipping after well over a year of restricting... maybe at some level i knew i needed a shock to the system to get back into a more intense restriction mode. well, the full shock is going to be on thursday when i weigh myself for the first time in a while. tbh the more brutal the weigh-in is, the more motivating it's going to be 💀

hi so i was wondering where to ask this until i suddenly remembered i have tumblr lol

i'm 3+ weeks post top surgery and i've been eating at maintenance since early summer (my surgery got postponed).

does anyone know (ideally from experience) how long after top surgery to wait before introducing a calorie deficit? i'm recovering well so far and i don't want to mess up my results... but i also need my coping mechanism back 😅 for context, my maintenance is 1600 and i'd take it slowly, maybe reduce by 100-200 for a few weeks and see how it goes

kind of a niche question sorry, i just figured i might actually get a decent response here idk

yesterday i had my 6 weeks post-op appointment with my surgeon and he said if i start restricting again now it won't affect the healing process !!!

at this point, massaging the scars daily is the most important thing for reducing how visible they are

just thought i'd update my post in case anyone else has been wondering the same thing :)

tldr: if you're healing well at 6 weeks post-op, it should be safe to start restricting. try not to go too extreme tho of course 🫶
