I have no particular affection for the "unskippable twelve-minute cutscene leading directly into a difficult boss fight" era of console RPGs, but I have to confess to a certain amount of nostalgia for the very specific period right after game developers figured out that this sucks, but before they hit upon the solution of simply not writing your game's story so that boss fights immediately follow long cutscenes, where they'd still do the twelve-minute cutscene leading directly into the difficult boss fight, but betwixt the former and the latter they'd pop your menu open to let you organise and re-equip your party and save your game. I like to imagine what this must look like from the outside.
It's especially funny when this counts as a save point for the purpose of using rest healing items like tents. "Hold on, just lemme take a quick nap."
Or better yet, "save points let you do anything you could do from the world map" + "the mid-cutscene courtesy menu counts as a save point" + "there is a cooking minigame".
The story of a marble worker Evrard Flignot from Brussels who devastated by the death of his wife built a pretty mausoleum for her in Cimetière de Laeken.
At first look inside, there is a mourner reaching out to an empty wall. But, once a year, on the day of the summer solstice, the Sun draws a light that recalls this love for almost a century.
