Czech song performed while carrying out Morena doll. Nesem, nesem Morenu, ej, pěkně pristrojenu, už nemože choditi, musime ju nositi. Ref.: Ej, Morena, Morena už bude utopena, ej, Morena, Morena, zima studena. Smrtko, Smrtko biela, kdes tak dlúho byla? U studanky, u voděnky ruky nohy mylac
Ref. Smrtko, Smrtko biela, čims jich utierala? Červenym šatečkom, zelenym listečkom. Ref.

My Czech Christmas movies list
Originally I wanted to do a big post about the movies I love to watch every Christmas and I think you should watch them too, with great plot descriptions and funny reasons why you should watch them. But since it would never get made (because of the lack of energy and time), I'm bringing you this half-assed post, my three essential recommendations which can all be found in this Google Drive, with subtitles, by the amazing @valerieandherweekofwonderz. I watch these every year, have been watching them for as long as I remember.
1. Tři oříšky pro popelku (Three Wishes for Cinderella)
(on the Drive under Fairy Tales -> Czech)
I bet a lot of you have heard of it or seen it, apparently it's really popular in Germany and Norway (so much that they did their own remake this year). It's a story about Cinderella and it's just lovely. I think watching this on Christmas is something most Czechs do, it gets broadcasted every year at 8pm.
2. Anděl Páně (Angel of the Lord)
(on the Drive under Fairy Tales -> Czech)
Though to sum up the plot, but I'd say it's a story about an angel who thinks God is being too lenient with sinners and is sent to earth to see how hard people have it. He's accompanied by a devil, their interactions are hilarious and they're the best duo. I've been telling y'all before you should watch it and I'm telling you again, if you want to see a nice and funny Czech movie, please watch it!
3. Pelíšky (Cosy Dens)
(on the Drive under Recent Films)
A story about a couple of families during the 60's (which means...communism). I've heard that foreigners often don't like this movie because they don't understand the events or the humor, but it really holds such a special place in my heart, I just wish everyone could see it and love it as much as I do. The soundtrack is amazing, the movie is both funny and heartbreaking. And there's nothing better than watching it with your family every Christmas, laughing and quoting the lines you've heard so many times before and then just finishing the movie around midnight, everyone super tired and melancholic.
