Hey do you have any tutorials on how you do your art? 😲 I love how you do your base color and shading
uh well im not great at tutorials but i guess i can give you a step by step on what i usually do if that works out
So my first step is of course, sketching what i what
if the sketch is simple, sometimes it evolves to the lineart right then and there (especially if i draw the character a lot and am very familiar with it)
then i line over the sketch
if there is something else in the foreground or background, i make sure to switch my brush to a different size (usually it’s not really noticeable to anyone but me however...)
then i do basic “shading” in certain areas with my lineart tool
this is usually just under the chin, or items that have “depth” and sink in a bit
then, i go over the outter edge of the lineart with a slightly bigger brush size
this makes the individual pop out more
next bit is small, but for multiple characters or just items in the fore/background, i erase where they touch (again something probably only i notice)
i do this for eyes and eyebrows that overlay with hair as well
next, i slap down a background color i know i wont be using for a character
then i take a look at the character in question, and decide what color they best represent
base colors are set. but as the face is the main focus of (nearly) any character, you need to make that area pop out more (which in turn, highlights their expression even more) (though this is really only bc i use 1 main color)
for the “whites” of the eyes, i find a color that goes well with the main one (blue on green wouldnt work well, because they blend too well together)
then i revisit the background. i’ll mess around with it as i see fit and usually just throw a bunch of wiggly lines on it and call it good bc... i just dont care
