I generally don't mind anything here and am very tolerant towards stuff - whoever you are, make yourself at home, but keep any bullshittery and agression to a minimum, we be chillin' here, not hating. Also don't push anything sexually charged towards me - I'll just ban you straight away.
Putting up a general warning as well: sometimes I draw things that people may find unnerving or disturbing, aka weird, fleshy creatures from my dreams or just bloody things. I'll do my best to tag them properly, but stating it here as is. Covid's cultural hangover is fascinating because on the one hand no one really wants to think about or remember it, but on the other it does seem to have permanently destroyed the last shreds of (at least) American civic society, in a way which is only becoming harder to ignore as time goes on.
It also started an ongoing health crisis that everyone is in denial of in a way that makes me feel absolutely insane. Long covid has overtaken asthma as the most common chronic illness in children, causing fatigue, depression, anxiety, and more. Disability rates in all ages have skyrocketed and will continue to grow. Every covid infection can cause long-lasting or permanent immune system and BRAIN damage and we're wondering why everyone is sick all the time and has no attention span or critical thinking skills. A study found that driving a car with acute or long covid is as dangerous as driving drunk because your brain is so fucked.
It wasn't just social isolation that's making everyone nuts, it's the wreck-your-brain-disease that everyone is spreading every day like its their full-time job. If you want to fight fascism, wear a mask!
unfun fact: any flu virus can cause this damage. even regular "normal" flu. covid seems to be very efficient at this, but influenza viruses can also cause "long flu" and months or even years of issues. i can't even count the number of people i've seen saying things like "i don't understand, it's been months and i still feel wiped out. it wasn't even covid, it was just flu!" like bruh. there's no "just" flu. flu fucks you up and can kill people too, especially the very young, very old, the chronically ill, and the immunosuppressed.

The music was loud in Fool's ears as xe meandered throughout the ballroom. Everyone was having so much fun, dancing and talking and laughing with each other, tonight had gone perfectly!
Now, all he had left to do was find Milkman, and give him his present.
She knew that enchanted golden apples weren't that hard to come by anymore, and Milkman himself had at least a few stockpiled up somewhere. But they were still his favorite thing, and Fool wanted to surprise him with one.
To show him that he could still trust faer. To show him that fae still wanted to be his friend, his birch-
Milkman's shiny gold buttons and familiar, bright laughter drew Fool's attention to only a short distance from the center of the dance floor. Fool smiled, taking a step over towards him, and reached a hand up to wave to him.
That got his attention, and Milkman waved a greeting, but he turned back around to keep doing... whatever he was doing. Fool's heart dropped.
That was it?
That was all they got, that was all the attention that Milkman would give them?!
He felt his breathing pick up, and his eyes burned. He stormed away, back to the corner, where no one would bother him.
Fool left, and took Milkman's gift with him.

Fool didn't know how much time it'd been. He'd left the party early. He hid in one of the back rooms, hidden where he could hear the faint music of the ball leaking through the walls, but no one's individual voices could be picked out of the blur. The apple was tossed onto a shelf, shimmering with that purple glow, unassumingly. Fool was curled up near it, fists clenched and angry tears streaking down his face.
Xir soul burned, with bright, shimmering patches of orange. Streaks of red, not unlike blood, dripped down xir face, mixed with the molten metal feeling of gold. It felt like it was on fire, spreading over the rest of xir skin.
It hurt.
Was she dying? She felt like she was dying. Her brain hurt, everything was too loud, her soul ached and stabbed and twisted and all she'd ever wanted was Milkman but Milkman didn't want her-
In a sudden, bold move of selfishness, ze stumbled over to the enchanted apple, intending to eat it, to save hirself from this pain. Milkman could find someone else to get him his favorite treasure.
Fool blinked.
The pain was gone as soon as ce'd touched the enchanted apple. It took a moment to register, to really realize what the absence of feeling and newfound quiet actually was.
But then only a mere second later, it was so much worse. Instead of his soul feeling like it was burning across his skin and fragmenting until he was naught more than a pile of shining golden dust on the floor, his skin itched and stabbed and he was sinking into the floor of the ballroom.
Fae could hear everyone in the party as clear as day, and could see them, too.
It was so much, it was so much-
They could feel every step anyone took, every glass set on a table, every brush against a wall.
It dropped the apple onto the ground and ran out to the party, not sure how to tell if the floors were moving or if its legs were.
Fool tripped and fell, a little ways off from the doorway. Someone- he didn't know who, everyone was blurring together, tried to say something to him.
Whoever they were, it didn't matter, now. A voice in xyr mind awoke- or had it always been there?- and reminded xem that this person was xyrs, that everyone was xyrs, that they were all in xyr ballroom and xe could keep them there as long as xe wanted.
The party doesn't end until the host says so.
The ballroom burst into color, inside Fool's mind, as she felt it breathe. Every person inside the room fell silent, but she could still feel them...?
There was a shining statue in front of them, made of pure, solid gold.
It had a small crown and hair that looked as though it had been flickering in the wind before being frozen in time. It looked like someone that Fool knew, he thought. But he was the ballroom now, and the ballroom was him, and he didn't remember their name.
There was only one name ve remembered, and that was Milkman's. Ce knew where to go find him. Right over in the corner, near the stained glass mural of the birch tree, was a golden statue of someone with a glorious mustache ce would recognize anywhere.
The ballroom echoed with faer lone, quiet footsteps. There was a chorus of muffled voices in faer head, words indistinguishable, but their sound was there, and Fool could hear them. They were familiar, as the golden faces scattered about the room were.
But like the faces, none of them were recognizable. They were blended together into one tune, one sound, more of an idea of voices than individuals speaking.
Still, Fool smiled. Her Milkman was here, and would stay here, and it didn't matter if her skin was crawling and her eyes were blurring and she could see and feel everything around her, Milkman was here, and he was hers, and would be hers forever. He was her shining statue now, a treasure to be protected.
They stared at his golden eyes, peaceful expression permanently etched onto his face. They touched his cheek, pleasantly startled by the warmth that met their fingers.

thank you for the flattering words, but i don't want to disrespect the person that asked a genuine question about my opinions or shut down more chances for conversation. i understand why they brought up harry potter, and i'm glad this discussion has opened up! i have a lot of opinions on this as well.
comparing support of "cancelled" and controversial creators does, in theory, make sense, and fanworks for harry potter, a series made by a horrible person, are often condemned as being immoral to create so it makes sense that fanworks inspired by AvidMC should also be condemned. however, people don't usually give the actual reason for why supporting JKR through fanworks is bad, and just say "because the creator is bad, making stuff relating to her works is bad". and that's not the reason why you shouldn't support JKR. this lack of understanding the why of not supporting JKR, and only thinking that you shouldn't create fancontent about "bad people"'s stories, has led to some genuinely terrible takes and widespread beliefs in the mcyt fandom as a whole, and to the belief that fanworks that relate to controversial and terrible people actually supports the harm they've done.
the reason you should not support JKR and harry potter is because she is actively politically involved with nazis and is trying to kill trans people, and she uses the popularity of harry potter (produced through people engaging in both her canonical works and fanworks) and money made off of the series to achieve these goals. there is no ethical consumption of harry potter, because anything that further elevates her platform and audience is directly contributing to her horrific goals and ideologies which are ACTIVELY being acted on and continuing to harm real-life people. however, people never say this. people only say "don't support JKR because she's transphobic", and don't give the context and reasoning of "she's transphobic and is actively harming trans people using her fame from harry potter, and to stop her we need to stop talking about harry potter". this has led to a widespread belief that morality is the main reason you should stop interacting with and creating fancontent for someone's characters and stories, when this is just not true.
minecraft youtube cancelling and discourse is different. AvidMC has already hurt their victims, and has already retired from the internet. even if they attempt to return to content creation, nobody is waiting for them. they will never be able to get their platform again, and will never be able to hurt people through their popularity and content again. they are gone, they are done, there is no space for them. they have no platform that fanworks can support, no actionable and ongoing harm they are acting on to hurt people that would be encouraged and platformed by fanworks. somebody drawing or writing avid will not bring them any closer to those they harmed or anyone they would wish to harm in the future.
AvidMC is still a terrible, terrible person in real life. if you do not want to make fanworks involving him, that is completely understandable; it is difficult to divorce the character from their creator. however, it is NOT a valid argument to claim that the entire fandom should entirely cease creating fanworks of him "because it supports him and his actions" or "because he's abusive in real life". fanartists are free to make what they like in this context, because there is no way--apart from monetary donations, which you obviously shouldn't do--to support AvidMC in any meaningful way. despite what he has done to people, and despite how terrible of a person he is, drawing his characters does not support him, and does not cause any more harm. morality does not matter when it comes to who you chose to create fanworks of.
even though both JKR and AvidMC have hurt people and are terrible people, there is this fundamental difference. one has a platform which she uses, fueled by fans, to kill trans people. one has done irreparable harm to their friends and community using their platform, but no longer has any platform or connection to those people at all; it is, in my opinion, obvious which person would benefit from fanworks continuing to be made, and who would not be affected at all.
