we made a funny post because this blog is so incredibly unserious and we just kinda vibe here. this is our house. welcome to our house! (well, other than the Discord)

after many of you and several of our creator friends recommended it, we have set up a Patreon! it took us a little bit because we wanted to make sure that we already had some worthwhile content on there for anyone who subscribed.

the past month and a half have been really incredible. the amount of support we have received is genuinely astounding. however, as much as the donations have helped in the short-term, we need some form of longevity. as such, we have set up an avenue for those who want to help support us in the long-term.

so, in the interest of putting in the effort to show this isn't for nothing, subscribers of the different tiers will have access right now to the following: - our entire past discography, and all future songs we release in high quality downloads - an exclusive hour-long production breakdown of our new song "Haunt You" (the first of many!)

we also will be uploading the following in the future - early access to future YouTube videos - teasers for songs and videos ahead of time - instrumentals of all future songs for download (the one for "Haunt You" is available now!)

we are also open to hearing what other perks subscribers might be interested in! subscriptions help us immensely from month-to-month, as they provide consistent and reliable income that we wouldn't get otherwise. if even 10% of our following across all platforms subscribed, it would help give us security that we can't get through other work due to our disability.

ok so. i get being scared or apprehensive because of the historically horrible things that have happened between fans and creators in the past. safety is priority, always. with that in mind, what actually is inherently bad about creators and fans interacting and having conversation?

if we're to look at history, it's usually either malefactors or a lack of thought and care put into acknowledging certain realities of the interpersonal situation and how that influences thoughts, emotions, and actions. i feel like distancing from eachother just works to further that disconnect. so maybe instead, we be more careful, thoughtful, and mindful of our influence and influences and put effort into appropriately accounting for them?

listen, im not saying it's that simple. i certainly am not gonna come to any larger conclusion here. my point is that there has to be a better way of going about all of this. everyone thinks they have an answer, but i really don't think anyone is even close. answers come through conversation with all sides and i personally have yet to see anyone - and i mean anyone - having meaningful conversation on this stuff. how are you supposed to if you are missing major perspectives?

yknow that thing where voters don't turn up to vote because they think their vote doesn't matter, and it ends up further reinforcing stagnation?idk. maybe it comes with being a disabled trans woman living paycheck-to-paycheck in this hellish reality we have found ourselves in, but i'm just a little sick of the "that's just how it is" argument. you gotta let yourself believe things can get better, and that you have the power to do so. if you can't do that with the microcosm of Minecraft Youtube, how are you gonna help make change elsewhere too?
