for a guy not planning to kill himself i certainly post a lot about wanting to die Looks around
vampire empire by big thief but itโs the line โI see you as you see yourself through all the books you readโ in reference to reading angst and hurt/comfort of your favorite characters that remind you of yourselfย
mfs that yearn for someone to comfort and understand them when they find a fanfic on ao3 thatโs their favorite character being #understood and #comforted while also going through The Horrors ๐ฅน๐๐
shoutout @soggycat420 for inspiring this
This is your middle of the night reminder that Peeta Mellark did not and would not beg/coerce Katniss to have children.

YOU hates terfs
rb if u hates terfs
Official โterfs get out of my houseโ Post
and you know what? i am REALLY sick of these ads that are openly mocking people for being concerned about the products theyโre selling.
Amazonโs super bowl ad where the Alexa mocks Chris Hemsworth for being worried about giving spy software control over his entire life. Waymoโs ad with the intro โthe robots are coming!โ mocking people who are rightfully extremely concerned about sharing the road with, or riding in, self-driving cars.
i donโt know, itโs just genuinely insane to me. โOh, you have legitimate concerns about our shitty product? sounds like youโre just lame!!!โ like what kind of โquiet part out loudโ marketing is that?
there are two reasons someone (me) is interested in physics.
1. to learn space and time teleportation theories much like number five hargreeves (my first obsession) in the umbrella academy and so he doesnโt think ur an idiot (heโs still alive bitch fight me)
2. to learn how to create a pocket dimension with no time passing from the point you entered to the point you exit so that thereโs a way to ease the anxiety of Not Doing ThingsTM
that is all.
Speaking as a childhood Harry Potter fan, the enduring persistence of its popularity including amongst adults is 100% because it is slop without substance.
It flirts with the idea of rebellion and emancipation from slavery but ultimately discredits those notions by having the rebel leader become a lead cop in the institution that was repressing him and by making emancipation seem silly.
It reflects the chauvinisms of a British aristocrat who offers an impossible narrative of an abused child escaping abuse through the purity of their Aryan magic blood. Itโs a fantasy that doesnโt even pretend to offer catharsis or self-actualization, merely hundreds of pages of occasionally racist drivel about a special little boy who joins the SS after reforming them from the inside.
Thatโs why it has maintained such reverence - because it doesnโt actually offer a subversive story but the aesthetic of one while reflecting the conservative biases of the author. It speaks to a certain liberal perspective that is progressive only so far as the oppressed donโt hurt their feelings.
if I ever tell you โlmk what you think if you read/play/watch it!โ I am firmly inviting you to send me a play by play minute by minute cataloguing of your thoughts about The Thing
Well it all starts at an Antarctic research station when this weird dog gets chased by armed men in a helicopter

girl get off that c.ai and embrace the 'x reader'
The thing about taking Haymitchโs โYou could live a hundred lifetimes and not deserve himโ as a fact is it dilutes every character by ignoring Haymitchโs self-loathing, Katnissโs selfless devotion, and Peetaโs various flaws.
At the risk of sounding anti-intellectual, I think that college should be free and also not a requirement for employment outside of highly specialized career fields
some people will be like โI wonder why fanfic writers donโt share their works anymore๐โ and then this is them when a writer is kind enough to share something they write โ as a hobby, for their own enjoyment โ with them for free.
some people really donโt realize how privileged they are that they get fanfics for free. imagine having access to something for free because someone is kind enough to share it with youโฆ and then being rude, entitled and an ungrateful pos to that person who was kind enough to share their creation with you for free
โalmost 1 year is a lil too much for meโ fuck off. fanfic writers donโt owe you anything. one of my favorite fics was updated after 13 years, and what I did is that I thanked the author for choosing to continue the work, I didnโt act like a spoiled toddler by asking why they didnโt update sooner. and even if a writer chooses to abandon their fic permanently with no explanation, that is their choice, their hobby, their decision. they donโt owe your entitled ass anything.
you people let tiktok rot your brains to the point you see everything as content farm and engagement. not a piece of art created by the artistโs love and passion. itโs dystopian.
There's something so meaningful about Katniss associating Peeta with dandelions, especially when you take into account the way Peeta is viewed by others throughout the trilogy and how dandelions are viewed in real life.
Dandelions are considered by many people to be weeds. They're not toxic, but they're eyesores in any perfect garden or lawn; they spread fast due to the way they seed, so they're considered invasive; their one useโattracting pollenatorsโis negated by the fact that their pollen is low in nutrients.
In other words, they're useless. They're pests.
Peeta throughout canon is treated similarly. It's a repeated theme that he is always brushed aside and disregarded in some way, second best to someone or something else. He's the third son. His mother deems him inadequate, he loses to his brother in wrestling, his father always wanted a daughter. Haymitch saves Katniss over him in the first games, the rebellion saves Katniss over him in the Quell. Peeta, in the eyes of others, inculding himself, has very little value. It's partially why in Catching Fire he says on the beach, "Nobody needs me."
And yet, we see how Katniss views dandelions, just as she views Peeta. To Katniss, dandelions are a sign of spring, the first bit of food bees get after winter, a sign of cultivation and new life on the horizon. They mean being sustained, for every bit of a dandelion is edible. They represent hope. To Katniss, dandelions are beautiful.
Peeta is her dandelion. He takes a beating to feed her when she's starving. The bread he gives her is enough to keep her alive for when spring comes, and she can forage in the woods. At her lowest, most cynical, and most suicidal, Peeta returns to her and plants a garden outside her window so that she can mourn in peace, and bakes her bread for breakfast the next morning so she can eat. So she can live.
There is so much in the text that shows us how valuable Katniss finds Peeta. To her, Peeta is incredibly kind, talented, and intelligent. He's a wordsmith. He's her hope. He's beautiful.
But I think it's best expressed in Catching Fire, in response to Peeta's assessment of his worth: "It's true his family doesn't need him. They will mourn him, as will a handful of friends. But they will get on. Even Haymitch, with the help of a lot of white liquor, will get on. I realize only one person will be damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies. Me.
'I do,' I say. 'I need you.'"
To Katniss, Peeta is everything but a weed.

Random question but what's your opinion on Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark from the hunger games?
they make me start frothing at the mouth and punching drywall thanks for asking <3
(links // tip jar!)
Katniss telling Peeta he likes to sleep with the windows open was basically admitting she spent the night with him enough to notice this preference.
