“I feel like nothing interesting ever happens here,” Trystin mumbled, sort of to himself. He was beginning to wonder why he had left his place in New York to come to this place. 

“It doesn’t seem any less interesting than any other place.”

           “i - i got an email ba - back from one com - company. one out of ten, and they don’t want to publish my - my book.” she shook her head, a deep sigh escaping her lips. “now, i’m just wa - waiting on t - ten other companies to call me - me a failure and t - tell me that i - i’m wasting my time and m - money, too.”

“Well, they are stupid and they will continue to be stupid until they know how amazing your book is and that they need to publish it as quick as possible.”

“ Keep to yourself and the few you care about ?? ” Nerissa smiles at him. “ Sounds like a smart plan, no one will get hurt that way. Well, less likely to anyways. ”

“Yes.” Elijah nods. “I could really care less about who gets hurt. For the most part anyway.”

“ So.. is it true what they say about small towns ?? That you guys all know everything about each other and everyone who is in the town and such ?? What’s the latest gossip, who’s doing who, and what do you know about… me.” Despite being new in town, and trying to stay under the radar, Nerissa wanted to know everything that was going on in the town, even though she wouldn’t really know who was who. More she wanted to know if anyone had seen or heard of her before and what they knew.

Elijah stared at the girl for a moment then frowned. “I don’t know nor do I care about what is going on around here or who is doing it. You’d have to ask anyone else but me for any kind of information about anything.”

“Badass Corini’s settling down? Damn. Hell must have frozen over. All jokes aside, congratulations. You guys must be excited.”

“I thought the same thing. Thanks. I know I am. I can’t wait to call her my wife.”

“You’d be the one crying.”

“I’d be crying from the lack of sex.”

“”Right? I miss it.”

“I can tell. It would be something to do around here that was a bit more fun than what we have now.”

“It’s not.. though, I suggest that you should somehow incorporate more fun into your life.” 

“Can’t. I want to buy too many nice things.”

“Nailed it.” 

“I would gladly have twelve kids, that would be the most fun ever.”

“There would be so much crying.”

“You and Melissa must get along pretty well then.”

“We are getting married so I really hope we do.”

“That doesn’t sound too fun.. Though, adulthood isn’t really all to fun.”

“It really isn’t is it?”
