This was in response to a post someone made talking about how they missed being catholic, but I think they deleted it before I could reblog, so now it’ll float in the void.
So do it again! Be catholic. Disassemble what man has taught and make it your own. Most of the Catholicism/Christianity we know today is from man’s (some may even say men 😬) ever changing ideals and ideas. Things have and will continue to change, but Gods love for you doesn’t.
Regardless of who or what you believe, you are loved and so uniquely you. God made you in his image and knew exactly who you were before there was even breath on earth, the universe etched constellations into your bones and filled your veins with stardust, Mother Nature grew the fruit that nourished your bloodline and promised you’d grow alongside the moss and trees, or maybe it was pure luck that you got to live on this random rock in space teeming with life.
I am catholic and my faith is exactly that. Mine, and no one else’s. It doesn’t matter how often I may question it, God loves me in all my queer gentle-hearted goodness.
