He also expends a large amount of effort on what could generously be called filler. Marginally funny, at best, content which doesn't advance the story or main cast relationships.

The way Twilight just falls to his knees upon seeing Yor’s smile, yeah…that’s relief on a whole other level. His body is already where his mind hasn’t caught up to yet. Looking at the house, thinking he might’ve never come back, that Yor was still going to be upset, only to walk in and have her smile so warmly at him, it’s disarming in the best way. He’s not losing his edge. He’s finally learning that maybe there are places where that sharpness, the vigilance isn’t necessary at all. It’s why he keeps almost letting his guard down at home and then was chastising himself for the possibility.
Like Yor says “you don’t need to be that perfect”, because he was trying to be the image of the “mission perfect” husband. But in this home he doesn’t have to be on mission all the time, it’s why his body gave out when he saw Yor’s smile, because it’s the one place he can relax and it’s ok…it’s safe. And for Twilight, Wise’s ace-in-the-hole spy, that would feel like losing your edge but I think it’s the best beginning of this “family” becoming more real. ❤️

Does anyone else feel like we’ve been missing the family part of Spy x Family for years now?
The arcs where they actually feel like a family barely last 1–2 chapters. Lately it feels more like Spy × School than Spy × Family, and that’s honestly not what made me fall in love with the series. When I started reading a few years ago, it felt more adult in tone. Even the student arcs, like the Red Circus stuff, dealt with heavy themes like terrorism and what drives people to it.
Now we’re getting storylines about random, creepy teachers trying to hurt students we’ve never even met before. I don’t hate character-focused arcs, I actually enjoy those. But it’s been so long since we’ve really seen Loid, Yor, and Anya together as an actual family, and that was always the emotional core for me.

I want to hold Yor and tell her how all her insecurities are baseless.
Been thinking about why my interest in Spy x Family has dropped lately, and I finally realized something: I just don’t like Damian and Anya’s “relationship.” I know it’s a hot take because they’re a fandom-favorite pairing, but aside from not liking the idea of shipping kids, Damian just doesn’t treat Anya well.
Yeah, she doesn’t care about his opinions and bounces back instantly, but the constant name-calling and the low-key bullying he enables through his little henchmen really puts me off. It’s not cute, and it doesn’t make me root for them.

I just finished the new Spy x Family chapter and… I’m honestly disappointed. I love this series, but lately it feels like it’s drifting away from what made it special. The constant Eden Academy drama feels like filler, and when the plot does move, it focuses so narrowly on one character's individual arc that the warmth and balance disappear.
I miss the mix of spy tension, family chaos, and emotional beats, the actual SPY and FAMILY parts. Instead, we’ve shifted from war and espionage to random ghost/occult storylines, which just feels off-tone for the series.
For the kids, the character work feels repetitive, the new villains are flat, and the “teachers fighting kids” thing was way too melodramatic and unrealistic. They keep adding new kids while the original character's voices get lost.
I know Endo can do better, the Red Circus arc proved that as it had the same characters. I just want the series to find its balance again, because I really miss the magic that made me fall in love with it.
