Hello, I discovered Critical Role a few days ago and I love it so much. Then, I saw that you were making the subtitles and I think you are doing an amazing job. Until now I was watching the show with the subtitles in spanish but I've just seen that there is only spanish subtitles until the episode 9, so I was wondering if I should wait for a spanish translation or start watcihing Critical Role with the english subtitles. I appreciate so much your work ^^
@CR_Translate is still going strong as a volunteer effort. Follow them on Twitter to get the latest on which episodes are being translated!
There's also that a bunch of the new CR captions are, well... not the greatest? They skip stuff and make a few mistakes and they're way off-time; I can understand that when it's being done in-the-moment, but when it's UPLOADED to youtube, not so understandable. And like, I literally prefer reading the auto-generated stuff, because it's on TIME with the subtitles. (But I really much rather have you peeps again!)
There are usually captions on Mondays when the episodes get uploaded to YouTube: YouTube auto captions, or live captions (depending on how long the episode is). Critical Roleâs edited captions are uploaded later, because they take more time. C2E074 & C2E075 will be up soon!
Hello! Thank you for all your hard work. I know CR has taken over CCs now, but I was wondering if you guys knew of any way to look at the full transcripts of the newer eps? Extracting them on YouTube is not as mobile friendly or eye friendly as having the document. Much appreciated!
Weâre working on it! Stay tuned.
How to submit CORRECTIONS? Maybe put the transcripts on GitHub so that it's possible to contribute corrections as reviewable pull requests?
You can submit anything you spot to CritRoleTranscript at gmail dot com. BUT! Remember that if the captions are REALLY off, theyâre probably auto captions or the live transcription from the Twitch stream. For right now, the final captions arenât uploaded until a few weeks later, and thatâs where the accuracyâs at.

ICYMI, Critical Role has taken over the closed captioning of their flagship show.Â
There's no way we can thank properly all of the volunteers that have helped us create a more inclusive community for the past 3 years. We love you. <3
ICYMI: Critical Role will be taking over closed captioning for their flagship show, starting with C2E54!Â
There's no way we can thank properly all of the volunteers that have helped us create a more inclusive community for the past 3 years. We love you.
We will, of course, continue to be a source of advice and direction when it comes to closed captions. We also have a lot of unofficial content that needs those sexy closed captions.Â
Unless something changes, weâll continue to host the transcripts on our website. Weâre a bit behind, but hopefully soon weâll have some time to catch up soon. <3
Hey, is it your efforts to transcribe critical role that goes on the YouTube channel? If so, Feral Business, Campaign 2, Episode 52 is awful. It looks like auto captions have been used and put in the place of the official English ones. I've been waiting a while for the video to be captioned and it's just awful.
Those are auto-captions, not ours. Not sure why âauto-captionsâ isnât displaying!

Lovely Critter volunteers, we're finishing up C2E52 and 53 (51 will be up shortly!) so we don't have any volunteer opportunities this week. But stay tuned, we have exciting news to share!
Hello! I just got into critical role and I wasnât sure who else to ask but if you run a blog like this youâre probably the most likely to know đ would you possibly know if any of the cast of critical role are a part of the LGBT community? I remember hearing something about it once but I canât remember đŠ tysm â¤ď¸đ
Unfortunately, we do not! Alas, weâre transcribers only.
