Thinking about the differences between Sam between S3/4 driving the Impala and modifying it (iPod jack) to suit his own needs, Soulless Sam between S5/6 having his own car which he prefers, and post finale Sam having the Impala but it's implied he never (or very rarely) drives it...
It’s like when you visit your elderly parents and the house is so comforting but yet so dingy and you know you can’t ever live there again and hope they take care of it before they die because you won’t be able to.
BC the impala was their home for a long time and the first one to outgrow it was Sam. He stuffed himself back into it after he had left for college, he tried to make it work, say it was temporary, a “roadtrip” when the show started but it was still 5 years. (Then he moved to his longest permanent address.)

Question about Sam & Rowena's relationship, and "why was Rowena so maternal to Sam but not to Crowley"
Ruth: "It's interesting that you see it as maternal", how she thinks that the reason people view it like that is because Rowena is older than Sam & Dean and a woman. But that it wasnt maternal. Rowena and Sam's relationship was not maternal, they were "peer survivors", on equal standing, who both went through something horrible with Lucifer, and through that connected with each other. That they were two people who understood each other and that "they had a soft spot for each other".
And also that Rowena was still a Crowley's mother, and acted like a mother, but not in a traditional mommy way. But rather like "be a bloody king" and trying to steer him, like a strict mother with expectations. But also that after Crowley died, she showed more of her "maternal" side through the grief and wanting him back.
Another great example of let’s listen to the actors. I’ve never seen it as maternal, but rather trauma bonded, there is physical attraction for sure which I think would be marred by Lucifer, and the possibility of tutor/apprenticeship in magic.
She’s narcissistic and not motherly and that complicated relationship with motherhood is wonderfully explored within her relationship with Crowley.
Sam already has a difficult mother relationship to deal with- no need to add a secondary one. The story showed us he needed to have someone else who actually understood what being and surviving a relationship with Lucifer looked like.
When I watched SPN the first time, I didn’t see Destiel or Wincest at all. I think that’s normal people viewing experience 🤷🏽♀️ I started consuming media and that introduced shipping. I could see Destiel but only in the flirty beginning- not after Godstiel.
Wincest, I could see the extreme codependency and the something unspoken from the pilot but it felt like it would stay under the skin, not enough to burst.
I started writing and went with Samifer because the domestic non-con elements and the free-will versus destiny with a religious backdrop allow me to explore and process my own traumas related to these areas. I can make other relationships do the same things (as my Destiel AU demonstrates) but Samifer canonically is already set up for it.
Jensen Ackles, the actor, is someone I see as a really professional, nice in a detached way, actor who was the co-lead of the show I fucking love and that I create fan-fic for and participate in fandom spaces and events in. He’s very pretty but not my type. All this to say, I really don’t pay much attention to him.
When I heard this audio I was livid. Distraught. Indignada. It felt so violating. Frustrating.
I have read before that Jensen is a publicist’s dream, because he plays nice and gives answers that don’t rock the boat. Well here he said No - he was firm and he made Misha back track on his fanning the flame and fix his prior statements. He said in 15 years I never played it like that and no there is no Destiel - not for Dean and not for Jensen.
I fucking love that for him- standing up for himself. I was angry at the fans still trying to bully him into saying what they wanted and at Misha’s long winded response, to try to not seem like a liar (7 out of the 10 mins or so are him BS). I didn’t like how it felt like an attack when this is a fictional character, fictional speech, fictional intention and years ago. But if anyone knew what that character felt it would be the guy who gave him life for 15 years.
Shipping happens after the show airs, based on how you view it and how it affects you. So it’s a you thing- not an actor thing. Some people ship bc people look physically good together. Some people bc they like the dynamics. Some people bc of representation. Some times the story arc is leading to that and sometimes it’s not. You pick it up and use it- over there in your 🏝️and don’t confuse it with the actual story told.
And you don’t bully the actors!

Ah I always thought possessing Vince was a gift, not an insult. At least I think Lucifer would see it so.
Sometimes it genuninely makes me sick to think of how long Lucifer was in the cage waiting for an apocalypse he didn’t really want planned for by his father and a human who was promised to him that he knew didn’t deserve to have to shoulder that responsibility.
Bare minimum with the assumption that 4 months equals 40 years and Lucifer got thrown in the cage right after Cain and Abel, that’s approximately 30,000,000 years. But then you also have the fan theory that deeper you go into hell, the longer the time dilation and it could be anywhere from 10 times to 1000 times that number.
Millions of years of being in cold, burning fire, tortured every which way, dark (he was the lightbringer, imagine being in a place where your incredible legendary light is doing about as much good as a birthday candle), isolated in a way angels were never meant to be.
How was he not MORE insane?? How did he still have such a capacity to be calm and empathetic to both Nick and Sam? To ask Michael to walk off the chessboard? To have tears and disgust at killing Gabriel like he was being rend in two? I can’t fucking believe it was one big cartoonishly evil ploy of manipulation and lies, no one can hold themselves together like that after suffering that immensely without any cracks of truth slipping through. Which means it was genuine and real. All of it. He cared! Even if his grace was flayed beyond recognition, to the very fiber of who he was, he still didn’t have his heart in it all. All he wanted was his father’s and his sibling’s love and for the creation to be made beautiful again.
It’s a joke, a big, heart-wrecking joke for the narrative to push its own propaganda of Lucifer being a great evil again and again, even though it revealed multiple times that his role was chosen for him just as much as Sam and Dean.

11.09 / O Brother Where Art Thou?
This scene- there is the imminent danger, the trauma of being with his r.. torturer (ala Jared)… but also the deconstruction of everything Sam has believed. Sam is a man of faith. We’ve been shown this time and time again, I do pray, I pray every day, I would kneel and ask God, I believe, I thought if I could prove I was worthy… so to have his belief torn down in one simple sentence, like a joke, while being mocked is one of the worst things that could happen to him.
That is the true horror of this scene for me.
