Look, I accomplished more things~

Jet, you really need to be more mindful of these sorts of things I mean really, this is becoming a problem.

For the brilliant @cryptidflorist’s birthday! He said he wanted angst and that’s exactly what happens because, guess what?! This links into the canon so terrible things are bound to happen ;3 Jet’s so repressed hes like a rock.

When the sun breaks above the horizon, spreading light through and over Ember Island, Zuko can almost pretend he’s alone.

Jet’s hands betray him. The clipped cuticles, the rough fingertips, scorchmarks when they linger too much. He is powder keg and Zuko is gasoline, and whenever Jet looks at him in that long, slow way, as if time is pulling up, as if he’s narrowing in for a hit and run, it sets off tiny explosions in Zuko’s belly that could only come from a firebender.

Zuko Plot 222: That's One Way to Date a Firebender

Ever since meeting on the ferry, Jet has been crushing HARD on Lee, but after seeing Mushi heat his tea it's become a frustrating mess in his head. Mushi is definitely a firebender! But maybe Lee isn't? How could he ever know for sure? Stalking the pair has given him nothing except more interactions with Lee where he just falls harder for the bratty teen.

Jet brainstorms what he thinks something a Firebender would NEVER do and, in his teenage hormone induced brilliance, and many mental gymnastics, eventually decides there's no way a Firebender would ever willingly date an Earth Peasant, right? Thinking he's oh so clever, Jet gets Lee alone and threatens him with the ultimatum of turning him in.

Zuko thinks he's stupid. "Spirits, Jet, you coulda just asked me out like a normal person instead of acting like a total fucking psycho."

Zuko kisses him and they proceed to be horny dumbasses together.
