hk/china trip [5/5] - xiamen & a bit of hk again 🍨

for my last leg of the trip i visited my aunt’s gelato shop in xiamen and her cutie puppy who smells like coconuts🐶 it was nice to have a chill ending to the trip and i just walked around checking out local cafes and trinket/stationery stores and also trying the local xiamen-exclusive milk tea chains 🥳 and i had one evening and day in hk before heading to the airport to fly home 💭

hk/china trip [4/5] - beijing 🐉

i ate peking duck everyday n i could for the rest of my life 🤤🤤 day of walking around the city, day at the great wall (was adopted by 3 russian divas who were exchange students and actually younger than me), day at tiananmen square, the palace museum, and jingshan park 😋 the watercolours return as i finish my multicoloured TN insert and grab a random one from a stationery store that had super thin paper but managed to hold watercolour so well 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

hk/china trip [3/5] - hangzhou & suzhou 🪷

took the high speed rail to hangzhou and went to a super cool historical museum, chilled at a ton of unique cafes and strolled along the canals throughout the city and the west lake at night. also did a day trip to suzhou where there were so many beautiful gardens and felt so underdressed bc people go to the gardens to take pics in their hanfu but it was great bc everyone there was a BADDIEEE 🥳🥳

took the sleeper train to shanghai and went to GAF (art fair) n saw so many cool artists ive been following online🥳 visited yuyuan, tianzifang, huaihai rd, anfu rd, and checked out so many local shops and designers🐰 i was also xiaolongbao maxxing it was simply too good😋😋

i had run out of pages on my tn day 1 of shanghai n got this tn insert w dif coloured pages from the art fair so the watercolours have been put on pause ✋🏼

the travel sketchbook drawings r back 😛😛 i’ve always taken a moleskine w me but trialled a traveler’s notebook this time! i like the size and i feel like it’s way more convenient to carry around but i don’t think my watercolours fw the paper as much..

this trip was a solo trip but my dad’s side of the family all live in hk so my cousin took me around these few days! we hit up victoria peak, the central-mid-levels escalators where chungking express was filmed, sai wan swimming shed, mong kok, tsim sha tsui, causeway bay, and m+! and had the best egg tarts and yum cha 🤤🤤

been feeling nostalgic.. there’s such a specific feeling tied to being 8 and playing on ur DS past bedtime n having to quickly hide it under the pillow when ur mum comes in to check on you😮‍💨🥺
