Temporal Beacon

Joan has entire existence have shifted to match Sherlocks. She doesn't have friends outside of Sherlocks friends. She doesn't have work outside of Sherlock work. She doesn't have a life outside of Sherlocks life. Even stories that should've been Joan's own (Cortes, Her sister) exist only to act as a foil to Sherlocks own life (Moriarty???, his dad). THE DYNAMIC DOESNT WORK IF ITS TWO SHERLOCKS AND NOT SHERLOCK AND WATSON.

Consider: that entire scene where Sherlock and Joan are trying to frame Vikner. It would've been a much more in character scene if Joan and Sherlocks lines were switched. Also consider Joan's wardrobe this season, and how, especially in the later season, she's dressing more and more like Sherlock. For instance that scene where they exit from confronting that lady in which Joan's outfit practically mirrors Sherlocks.

Like Joan Watson is becoming Sherlock 2.0 and should've bounced when Sherlock gave her an out and she never should have moved back into the brownstone after Andrew's death. Like the worst thing about this season is that Joan Watson hasn't been allowed to be Watson.

I have so many negative thoughts and feelings about Elementary it makes it difficult to talk about. Maybe I'll make a long read more post tomorrow. Good things I liked about this finale: it wasn't reichenbach.
