So for people seriously allergic to nuts, is there something that is as easily accessible as nuts that could replace that? Like, are sunflower seeds equal to nuts?

Sunflower seeds do have ~5 grams protein per ounce eaten(shelled calculation), almonds have ~6 and cashews ~5 so yeah, they're comparable.

If allergic to both, I know jerky sticks have suited me well as a quick protein source that's shelf stable and easy to carry, but for environments with refrigeration, cheese is good and cheaper than jerky

Reminds me of my idea for slimes being giant bacteria the size of a man who thrive in an oxygen sparse swamp in my world.

Other area features include:

-dire mosquitoes the size of a man

-huge mushroom trees like those in ancient earth.

-giant swamp frog-dragons with inch thick skin and an immunity to all bloodborne diseases to be able to safely hunt the dire mosquitoes
