Oh lord…

Kaeya offered Diluc on one of his birthday a plant. Diluc would never admit it, but he’s so proud of keeping it alive - he takes it as proof he’s able to protect something and care for it.

Diluc failed to realize the plant is a fake and no one has the heart to tell him the truth. Kaeya & Elzer are tempted sometimes tho.

Crepus was slightly taken aback to say the least. His son never cried before, no matter how badly scratched up he ended up being after playing with his friends. But Crepus quickly learned that if Kaeya showed signs of happiness Diluc would laugh and when Kaeya would tear up (quite spectacularly) Diluc would haul like an injured pup. And if Diluc starts full on ugly crying Kaeya will be there to cry just as loudly (but prettier by far) with him, which would start a vicious cycle of tears and wails. At this point people would start wondering if children are being raised or tortured in the mansion.

Maybe what Kaeya said when he was still a little blueberry that was just starting to get attached to his new family was half truth half a lie, but Diluc gave his word and he’s sticking to it.

Additional hc - baby Diluc is an ugly crier that cries along with his brother only. Kaeya keeps on forgetting his brother committed war crimes and he can barely believe his eye(s) every time Diluc is there to remind him.

That one time Kaeya does a “tactical” retreat from a fight in Dragonspine and of course he has to loose his sword. He figured out it wouldn’t be that bad if he made it home before the sword did (that is considering someone would find it). But between being treated and scolded by an alchemist he runs late and poor Diluc gets a distress letter from Mondstadt followed by an uncalled for apology for a death that didn’t even take place.

I’m pretty sure this man will not scream at customer service in case there was a 6 people overbooking of the plane he was supposed to board. No. This man is debating wether to buy the airline company and fire everyone who made such a stupid decision or changing his destination to where the ones responsible for this situation are and give them a scolding they will remember for the rest of their life.

Who got distracted momentarily and got pushed off a cliff during a fight? Who was the one just as smart, jumping in after his sibling to the rescue without any consideration that they could’ve both drown? It doesn’t really matter because all ended well - except for those coats of fur that now lay at the bottom of the lake. And as they try to dry a bit before returning to the city Kaeya remembers that one time he fell into the lake because he caught a fish too strong for his “fun” sized self at the time, how Diluc followed suit to save his new brother and how Crepus was there to fish both of them out. And while their father is gone and they swam to shore themselves the memories spread fizzling joy in his heart. Diluc soft tone doesn’t help either especially not with that smile plastered on his face. For a second the cavalry captain feels like a child again. So he does what children do best - laugh with a brilliance that could rival the sun. And how can Diluc be mad at his brother knowing far too well he himself can’t stop the laughter that is reaching his eyes. It was a great day for a swim after all and he could afford many coats like the one he just lost. A small price to pay in exchange for the feeling of having a little bit of his brother back.

The secret of stealing Master Diluc heart like a hurricane is…

To defend him like it’s the last thing you’d ever do. Imagine - this man had to fend for himself for years. Not only that he also keeps on protecting others. Sure he has Adeline to help him when he can barely stand, he knows that if worse comes the cavalry captain will help him, but they are all… family in his eyes (no matter how much he’d deny Kaeya being his brother).

So when this completely random person he barely knows bares their fangs and gets ready to annihilate some rude drunk patron, Diluc is taken aback. Someone who has nothing to gain from it, who he didn’t even notice as he entered the bar is defending him… And sure Diluc doesn’t need protection, he can handle it himself it’s the fact that someone else takes charge and stands between him and rude comments that makes his heart beat faster.

What this man would find hot is someone caring for him like he cares for others (he can try and deny it by his cheeks won’t lie). To the point he’s at a loss of words and forgets that fights are not allowed in the bar. To the point where the air temperature jumps 5 degrees and his cheeks glow with radiating warmth he cannot control. And no one has the heart to point it out because Master Diluc finally looks his age.

Stealing a heart is easy. The real challenge starts when you want it to be given willingly.

I’m not dead and have some more Diluc to show in the next few days. Also this works with any ship (aside of KaeLuc but I’m not a fan of it) that’s why I like this little hc.

During Midterms and Finals Diluc didn’t sleep a wink, compared to Kaeya who couldn’t give up on his beauty sleep. But Kaeya did study hard late at night and of course last second so if it wasn’t for his brother he would’ve missed most of his exams. So while Kaeya will go back to his normal self the moment he finished the last exam Diluc will hibernate for 3 days straight and it will be his brother turn to wake him up just to make sure he eats something and drinks.
