Diluc is Sun-coded, but not in the ray-of-sunshine way (at least not anymore). He's the Sun in the sense he burns hot and bright and powerful, that he's a raging fury of fire and passion and that maybe, just maybe, he's destroying himself as he does so, because he'd rather burn himself to ashes than leave it be. He, bold and central as only a Sun can be, 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 burning, stop the rage and heat and damage, but it's not like he would want to, anyways. ☀

Kaeya is Moon-coded, but not in the moody, grumpy way (that would be Diluc lol). He's like the Moon in the way he shines brightly in darkness guiding others. Much like the Moon, he has his darker sides no one else can see. Kaeya is as lonely as he is lovely, doomed to watch on as the person who gives him his light, his 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 (despite the fact he's not sure they can still be called that) slowly destroys himself, taking the light with him. He 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘴 his Sun is going to burn himself out and the only thing left for him, Moon as he is, is to plunge in darkness, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵. 🌑

Just a silly thought I had because I saw this post and IMMEDIATELY thought of them 🥰

He's not the WORST person Kaeya could possibly date, but he's incredibly suspicious. He knows nothing about him, and he can't learn anything about him besides he's basically a recluse and he has a sister. And Diluc just has a general uneasy feeling about Albedo, which doesn't help.

Albedo doesn't like Diluc.

Obviously. He hurt Kaeya really awfully, and even if Kaeya has forgiven him, Albedo never will.

I imagine that Adelinde KNOWs about Kaeya's relationship w Albedo but doesn't tell Diluc because she thinks he already knows, after all, he like collects intelligence for a living. And because the topic of Kaeya is seemingly off limits as well. And then when they finally start getting closer and start to make up, Adelinde of course thinks Diluc knows.

Kaeya hasn't talked about it with Diluc directly, but Diluc is always throwing jabs about how suspicous Albedo seems, so Kaeya also assumes that Diluc is just being an overly protective older brother and worried about the guy he's dating. Diluc means all of the things he's saying quite literally, so when he says something like 'quite an interesting friend you have there' he's not being passive agressive about the guy he's dating he's just trying to warm Kaeya about a suspicous individual.

So when Kaebedo kiss in front of him for the first time...

Kaeya was malnourished as a kid and for the first year or so w/ Crepus and Diluc because he had severe anxiety about food

Diluc had a bird feeder outside his window

Kaeya kept his room picture perfectly clean while Diluc's was an absolute mess

Kaeya would sneak out to the stables to look at the horses. Crepus knew about it but was too scared to frighten Kaeya, so he let Kaeya think he hadn't been found out

Kaeya knew his sexuality wayyyy before Diluc did but Diluc came out first

Diluc could never go ice skating as a kid because he hadn't learned how to control his vision

Diluc set aside a shelf in their library for bird books

Kaeya starts drinking heavily, stressed out about this random clearly Khaenri'ahn man. Even though they haven't reconciled sense their fight, he subconsciously moves closer to Diluc. Diluc is now worried because this is one of the first times sense his sabbatical in Snezhnaya that Kaeya has shown a real emotion on his face, so he freaks the fuck out. Internally, of course. Diluc also doesn't know the cause of this worry, so he has the fiercest 'older brother' stare while he's looking at all the customers. Kaeya is too busy getting wasted to notice Diluc's stare.
