Donât judge a book by itâs cover. Â My endometriosis brochure has a picture of two girls smiling on it, but I can assure you Iâm not having any fun.
I needed to brush my teeth
So made my way to the bathroom. Then I couldn't remember what I needed to do. Luckily, I remembered... And had a shower. Oops. *embarks on Operation Brush Teeth Mk 2*
I wonder what it's like to be someone else.

Family member: it's really hard on me when your illness gets this bad
Me: yeah okay, now imagine how hard it must be for me
thereâs an angel hogging my blankets
cheddar biscuit is going to be so proud when i tell her how many notes her pictures have
Wait.  WaitâŚ
Her name is Cheddar Biscuit????
That is so perfect. Â I might have to lie down for a week.
every day when my dad comes home from work he feeds her pieces of ham. incidentally, she has a weird squeaky gravelly little meow, so it kind of sounds like sheâs shouting âham?! ham?!â whenever he comes home she runs to the door and shouts âhaaaaaam?!â and itâs the best thing
I love her.
The photos make me want to grab my cat, attractive bedding and fairy lights to make a den for myself⌠But after reading the comments I think Iâll have to go for some ritz crackers instead.
Update: Currently being squished by cat while eating ritz biscuits.
^& no that's not my cats name :o

Weekend Hashtag Project: #WHPgetaway
Weekend Hashtag Project is a series featuring designated themes and hashtags chosen by Instagramâs Community Team. For a chance to be featured on the Instagram blog, follow @instagram and look for a post every week announcing the latest project.
This weekend, the goal is to take photos and videos showing how you escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Here are a few tips to get you started:
If you live in the country, do you head to an urban center? If you live in the city, do you escape to the mountains or the desert? Capture your favorite place outside of your everyday environment.
Taking time for yourself doesnât always require travel. Whether youâre grabbing coffee during the workday or relaxing in your backyard, these short retreats can pack almost as much punch as longer ones.
Get creative with your camera. Capture your getaway through a video, Boomerang, Hyperlapse or Rewind to add a new layer of meaning and context.
PROJECT RULES: Please add the #WHPgetaway hashtag only to photos and videos taken over this weekend and only submit your own visuals to the project. If you include music in your video submissions, please only use music to which you own the rights. Any tagged photo or video taken over the weekend is eligible to be featured next week.
Definitely trying this... Uh, I wear... Something other than pyjamas? Does that count as a weekend break? I mean I don't do it every weekend but it is a real treat... #spoonieproblems

If Youâre Gonna Make Something Wheelchair Accessible, Donât Make it a Thing
Hereâs some examples awkward accessibility being a thing:
Your at a hotel that has a lift to get you from one sub-floor to another, but the lift can only be unlocked and operated by one specific person that the hotel now has to go find. Sure, theyâve made the entrance to the sub-floor is accessible, but now itâs a thing.
The buses are wheelchair accessible but the driver has to stop the bus, take 30 seconds to lower the goddamn ramp, move passengers out of their seats, hook up the straps and then secure you in the bus. Sure, theyâve made the busses accessible but now itâs a thing.
The restaurant has an accessible entrance, but itâs past the trash room and through the kitchen. Sure, the restaurant is accessible, but now itâs an insulting thing.
Hereâs some great examples of accessibility not being a thing:
The train to the airport pulls up flush with the platform. I board with everyone else and sit wherever the fuck I want. Riding the train is accessible and not a thing.
In Portland, I press a button the side of the streetcar and a ramp automatically extends at the same time the door opens. I board in the same amount of time as everyone else. This is not a thing.
I get that it is difficult to design for wheelchair accessibility, but folks need to start considering the overall quality of the experience versus just thinking about meeting the minimum requirements.
The bus part really got me, tired of avoiding any journey involving that 'thing' for fear of feeling EVEN MORE OF A NUISANCE.
i was thinking, why do we always say people with disabilities have âspecialâ needs? why isnât it just âdifferentâ needs?
The TRUE cure to an mortal illness:
1 bucket of coconut oil 1 truckload of pseudoscience bs 1 craptonne of yoga (preferably in liquid form) 1 shitload of kale - free of pesticides of course. Mix together and sprinkle over a good handful of gluten-free, soy-free, sugar-free, alcohol-free and dairy-free positive energy.
Not satisfied? Â Well then you must be doing it wrong!
If only someone had told me this sooner! I feel better just reading it... *-*

Keeping in touch with friends when you're chronically ill:
Half: "HOW WAS YOUR AMAZING HEALTH FILLED DAY!? TELL ME ALL ABOUT LIFE OUTSIDE THE HOUSE!!!" Then half: "Yeah but can you please stop going on about all your privileges that you don't even appreciate now? I'm trying to be at peace with my situation over here and you're just rubbing my nose in it." Who else thinks it crosses over into the second one when they don't bother to ask about your life? Or when they do it's out of the need to *feel* polite and they don't really care about the latest additions to your collection of bed socks.

So many people are suffering. Don't make that a reason to give up on yourself as if you don't deserve help too. We all deserve better than this, none more than others. Respect and empathise with other people who are in pain (emotionally or physically) don't use their suffering to belittle your own. It is okay to feel lost. It is okay to feel a little bit broken. It is okay to want more than this.
Tired of feeling like I owe something more to anyone who offers me friendship than my friendship in return. Like I need to balance out the bargain because the friendship of a disabled person is somehow worth less.
