I dated a man who belittled me, threatened to hurt my family, stalked me, and made me cut all my friends out of my life. And people are pretty quick to agree that he was abusive.  My brother dated a woman who made him quit his job because she didn’t want other girls looking at him, repeatedly locked him out of the house in freezing temperatures in the middle of the night to “teach him a lesson”, and refused to be seen with him in public if he wasn’t dressed to her standards. And almost no one calls her abusive. People have called her “crazy”, “high-maintenance” and “jealous”, but not abusive.  And that’s not right. 

reminds me of that talk show clip where the guy was locked in his apartment three stories up by his girlfriend and had to jump out and hurt himself badly enough to need to go to the hospital, and the audience laughed while he was describing that and the host actually told them off and said if this was a woman describing the exact same scenario you would not be laughing.

Oooh, they introduced Scotland and Haiti to tailgating in Foxboro!! You just TRY and stop a New England sports fan from tailgating at Gillette!!

My favorite thing right now are all these videos of Europeans coming to America - especially the South - for the World Cup and discovering an entirely different world from what they’ve been told. 😂 My faves are the guy realizing he can get free refills at a restaurant and downing like 2 or 3 Cokes and looking like the happiest kid alive, and the sweetest little Norwegian kid doing his darnedest to order in English at McDonalds and absolutely nailing it.

So many people who constantly say shit like this are terrified of being labeled as bisexual and I sympathize with the fact that it’s difficult to reconcile with changing labels that define a huge part of your identity but at some point you have to get real and stop denying your self and emotions because of whatever preconceived notions you have surrounding sexuality. trying to validate yourself by saying gay men fuck lesbians all the time ain’t gonna do shit! It’ll be okay we can all live in peace please accept yourself
