in law school, my mom took me to this stress retreat because my family was vaguely aware i was a suicide risk. and they didnt allow phones, so i brought this huge bag of books. and one of the options for "destressing" was this fake cave grotto thing, where they'd decorated a room to make it look exactly like an underground cave and the air was like -10 degrees, but there was a like 4ft deep pool in the middle that was kept super super hot, so you would just switch between the hot and cold. and they would bring you an endless supply of this weird syrupy drink thing that was like super caffeinated and tasted like sugar and mint. and so i spent multiple days sitting half submerged in this fake grotto drinking mystery liquid and reading. and i have to be honest i really did feel less stressed

🎵And I’m proud to be an American, where I eat in my car like a piiig🎵
If you try to eat in your car in Bosnia they kill you. They just kill you.
Do people even know how casually and pervasively U.S. christians believe actual witchcraft and demons are a tangible everyday threat? Because it should be horrifying that these people just walk around thinking that way.
This isn't harmless religious freedom, it's an untreated ongoing mass hysteria dangerous enough that these people have zero business ever touching any form of educational work, medical work, law enforcement or politics and yet they outright dominate those last two. Your local state senators quite possibly think little goblins from hell are as real as like, seagulls. And they think you're possesed and brainwashed under their* influence for not agreeing with them.
*the demons, not the seagulls...but maybe?
Ok, I had a weird conversation the other day. I need to see what others think. Remember: the question is what is stranger for a person to do, not what is more morally acceptable. It is the official opinion of this blog that you shouldn't do either of these things but for wholly different reasons; eating a Cessna seems like it would be very bad for your health, while eating a baby is murder and therefore morally abhorrent. All of that being said:
What is stranger for a human being to do: eat a human baby, or eat a Cessna airplane?
Eating a baby is stranger; it is more normal to eat an airplane
Eating an airplane is stranger; it is more normal to eat a human baby
French people have done both of these things
yes, this is why I asked the question. I'm trying to determine whether the consensus is that Tarrare was weirder or Michel Lotito. The French must be analyzed and studied.
When I'm trying to look up Michael Lotito I google "guy who ate a Cessna" but I don't even necessarily think of eating the baby as like, the main weird thing about Tarrare
nothing about him was normal. I wish we knew more about him. I wish he had a slightly more boring life. I wish he didn't (allegedly) eat a baby.

'Exceptionally Rare' Roman Lead Ingots Found in England
Metal detectorists have discovered two "exceptionally rare" lead blocks on farmland in west Wales.
The ingots date back almost 2,000 years to AD87, based on lettering written on the objects, which refers to the Emperor Domitian, who was known for his empire building, including expansion in Britain.
The objects, which were used to produce tools and weapons, were found on grazing land in Llangynfelyn, Ceredigion, by Nick Yallope and Peter Nicholas.
"Roman ingots are exceptionally rare and represent a tangible link to Wales' Roman industrial past," said landowner and farmer Geraint Jenkins, who granted the detectorists permission to search on the land.
Yallope said he felt "incredibly proud to have uncovered something so rare and important to our local heritage".
"Unlocking a new chapter of our area's past is incredibly exciting," said Yallope, while Nicholas said he was trying to "save history for the local community and future generations".
Carrie Canham from Ceredigion Museum in Aberystwyth said the artefacts were the first of their kind to be found in west Wales and "highlight Ceredigion's significance in Emperor Domitian Caesar Augustus's empire building".
"Ceredigion's rich mineral and ore deposits were a major reason the Romans sought to conquer this area," she added.
She said lead mined in the area travelled across the breadth of the Roman Empire, adding that the museum was excited at the prospect of acquiring these "remarkable objects".
It is planning to share the story in a new archaeology gallery opening in 2027.
Jenkins, the farmer and landowner where the find was made, said he was "astonished" at the discovery, adding it was "remarkable to think that land we now farm organically once played a role in a much wider Roman landscape".

Climbing down from the stands with mustard and ketchup packets clutched in their fists, dozens of rabid, salivating Milwaukee Brewers fans reportedly chased down the contestants in the traditional Johnsonville Sausage Race midway through Tuesday’s game. “They took after those sausages like a pack of wolves,” said Brewers outfielder Brandon Lockridge, recalling the unmistakable look of fear in the eyes of the last-place bratwurst as ravenous fans huffed closely behind shouting, “Get the brat!” and “Slow down, you mouthwatering fuck!”
