the call of the running tide by goldmonger. mermaid matt jackson. historical setting. pirates and ocean and critiques of english colonialism and freaky mermaid stuff. this shit is so romantic and makes me weep every time. for feeling things. and for mermaid porn.

heartfelt like ice melt by goldmonger. just sort of what matt is thinking about hangman after his return at dynasty 2025. makes perfect sense of the young bucks/death riders team and of why the bucks cost swerve the title. oh matt is so pathetic and in love. he's trying his best but it's not working at all. very very sad. heartbreaking angst with no comfort for anyone. must be read.

instead of the cross, the albatross by goldmonger. a spiritual successor to the previous fanfic although not part of a series. matt is so down bad for hangman that he fucks mox to deal with it. it doesn't help. he's sad. this fic is sad. must be read.

if i could have a second skin (i'd probably dress up in you) by countryjaxed. hangman/mjf. mjf is soooo abnormal about hangman. and in fact he is just so abnormal. get that poor man help. no therapy for him in this fic though he just fucks hangman while matt watches. a good second option. young cuck matt jackson on top form here. also you should read everything this author has ever written. they get it. this is just my favourite one.

road trip by bbangcore. hangman/ospreay and once again its famous for a reason. she's funny and dramatic and romantic and sexy and heartbreaking. hangman and ospreay take a road trip across america as strangers and then they fall in love! a bittersweet ending that is mainly just really really sad. but it must be read.

at heart a sentimentalist by goldmonger. the swerve/hangman fanfiction. just the perfect characterisation of their relationship. it feels like them while still being sweet and funny and romantic. no big concept for this fic, they just go on a date and it is nice!
