existence as a corporeal being is overrated

This is so late but I had to join in.

Meet the Mona Lisa of the Prado, the earliest known copy of Da Vinci’s best portrait. Similarity in the undersketch of the painting indicates that this was very likely painted concurrently with the original Mona Lisa, by a student of Da Vinci.

There is much controversy in the art world over the question of whether or not to clean the fragile Mona Lisa, but her sister has been restored and some fairly odd later alterations removed to show the original vibrant colors and lighting. Some details, such as the sheerness of her shawl and the pattern on the neckline of her dress, have become utterly obscured in the original, but in the restored copy they’re perfectly clear.

I was discharged from the psych hospital last Monday. They were somewhat hesitant because I was still having panic attacks with dangerous features but sent me home because the group in the unit was very loud and had a lot of people with more manic symptoms that my anxiety was playing off of. I wanted it be home with my cats, where I could have my art supplies, and my books/tv/music, so essentially where I had my coping skills.

The idea was that I would have a couple days to get things in order for my sons school year, recover from social exhaustion, and get an appointment set up for my very painful (and very stressful) impacted wisdom teeth (I had three! Lucky me! 🙃)

There was a plan for me to start a Partial Hospitalization Program and it seemed that my insurance was lined up but when I went to start on Friday it seemed this had been a miscommunication. It is one of the only two in my area and while we are trying to figure it out, I will have to wait even longer. The bill for it out of pocket is upwards of $2000, and if we chuck in any costs for the surgical removal of my wisdom teeth we can double that. It’s simply not something I, or my family, can afford right now.

While I know that being unable to work during quarantine is not a unique story during these insanely troubling times, I’ve seen so many of you rise to the occasion that I am hoping I can ask for help too.

We have had multiple family emergencies during the past two months in that we were displaced from our apartment to a hotel due to sewage overflow prior to my emergency hospitalization. It’s really taken a toll in terms of surprise financial burdens right after adopting our baby kitties who had needed additional FeLV testing due to a (thankfully) false positive test.

I don’t want anyone to shoot me $5000, nobody has that right now. However, just $5 towards my empty savings account, or for my expensive prescription copays would be so appreciated. Anything makes this better. It helps with any costs that my EBT/small allowance doesn’t easily cover like internet/electric bills.

As soon as the financial situation is rounded out, I would like to donate anything surplus to the ACLU or my local homeless/direct action groups, and will posts pics/receipts for transparency.

So I here is my cashapp, and if you have any ability it would go a long long long way. I could even try and make you a weird little piece of art, or do a tarot reading, or a poem/video of me singing for you, or a piece of my writing when I have spoons!

I know this post is all over the place and not super succinct but really anything helps and I hope you read it.
