New spalted maple sculpture. Its been sanded to about 100 grit so I've got a ways to go but I am enjoying it a lot so far. I am trying to decide whether I want it as a hanging wall sculpture or a stand up sculpture. She's all finished except for a base that I still have to make. 3 coats of finish and I am amazed by the figure, and character of the wood. Its all done. Spalted maple from Levan Utah and walnut from Manti Utah. Both woods were from trees that were salvaged and milled at Snow College. I love giving old wood new life and beauty. Now we just need a new and longer couch to match it.
