fish, cre- -scen- t, bone, shell— this soft, organic memory of you.

this grief-sediment that ages, compresses, into fossil

over time

becomes poems on picture-stone.

How do I express my pain in a healthy way,

When every part of myself is suffers now?

From independent to helpless

Seemingly overnight,

Motivated to hopless

For my dreams I’ve lost sight.

Feeling solo but never alone,

I have put my masks back on.

Aching in every corner of my bones

A part of my soul has gone.

How can I say this without being mad

How do I express my self without becoming sad?

How do I ask for help when I don’t know what I need?

How do I fold solace when it goes against my creed?

I tried and failed I’ve been bitter and cold

So I’ll try harder, my emotions I’ll hold

Selfish. Emotional. Tired.
