artificial sounds from my heart

Bit of pain, bit out of sorts, bit annoyed about it all.

Oh hey, look, we're back at Day 1again.

Fortunately work has agreed to keep paying me til 31 July.

My surgeon was able to achieve what we wanted. My eye is wildly swollen, I think I've lost a fair chunk more vision and having feelings about that but hard to tell when I can't really open it.

Started getting symptoms again over the weekend and surgeon confirmed today there is fluid building under the retina.

I'm getting prepped for surgery no 5 tomorrow . A surgery that will restart 8 weeks of lying face down.

Well, that's not quite right. After seeing surgeon a few days ago, he said I should be right to try some upright time today for the extra laser should have taken effect.

I went for a walk around the block with Mum, an iced coffee at a new local Cafe. We talked about how exciting it was I could be upright a bit. Of when I could get tested for new glasses, could start being independent, maybe return to where I live.

I managed 4 hours upright time before that familiar shadow turned up in my vision again.

Thankfully there's still a fair chunk of gas bubble in my eye so I went face down again and 4 hours later the shadow was mostly gone.

A mere day after being cleared to be upright more, we got symptoms (flashes, floaters, big shadow) on the inside of the laser covering the top half of the central vision for several hours so back to the surgeon tomorrow.

BIG NEWS- saw surgeon today and retina is still attached (love that), pressures are low (love that), the fluid building behind the retina is still there and it looks like it may have detached but it's in the space between the laser around my central vision and scleral buckle so we're not going to do anything about it for now because it risks further complications (mixed feelings about this because I'm having lots of symptoms of retina tension from this ie FLASHES and floaters).

Gas bubble has dissolved enough that it's not putting pressure on the front of my eye so I get more PRIVILEGES ie I can be upright a bit more and suss out if my pressures remain low, if they go up, I'm back face down for 22 hours again. Absolutely no sleeping on my back though.
