i tell this story all the time but in eighth grade I genuinely believed I was normal oak and this was a thing for like. 4 months?maybe 5. and like even now I use norm/normal pronouns (with close friends)

as far as being forcibly outed and yanked from the closet against my will goes I think I can easily say I got the good ending. like especially now nearly 15 years later, but even when it first happened there were a lot of ways things could have gone WAY worse. things definitely weren’t perfect, but I had a lot of emergency plans I didn’t have to use and I genuinely am grateful for that. however I frankly still find myself envious of the people who got to make the choice to come out for themselves. I know technically I’ve ended up doing both at various stages of my life, and it’s not as though coming out of your own free will isn’t also incredibly terrifying. but being outed is a violation of autonomy that wouldn’t ever wish on anyone. which is to say. please be respectful of people in the closet. if you find that out about someone, please guard that secret for them like a life depends on it. sometimes it does.
