Fuck relationships.

I don't want to sound like I'm making a rash decision here, but I am NEVER ever drinking alcohol again, and I am deadly serious about this. The utter shit night I've had has made me realise a few things, I don't want to be the sort of person who needs to get drunk because a girl didn't text him back, or a girl he likes gets a new boyfriend, or because he's had an argument with his family, or because he's feeling a bit down. Because I'm just going to end up like I was tonight, sweating like a madman and shivering uncontrollably in the men's toilet in the Catty, treating Matt McGuire, the best friend I could ever have asked for like something I've scraped off the sole of my shoe. I don't need to drink to be fun or interesting, or to be able to talk to women, I would be so much better off if I was just myself instead of acting like a stupid wee boy. I don't want to be the Connelly I was this evening, I just want to be like my old self, the shy, awkward guy who loves Highlander and still cries whenever he watches the end of Berserk. That Connelly was fine, I don't see why I need to be drunk to be myself. From now on I will never touch alcohol, I'll just go out with my friends and stick to Coke instead. This has turned into a bit of a rant, but I'm just being honest. If you ever see me with a drink, you are fully authorised to slap me in the face, because I'll be so much better for it. Thanks.
