I’m obsessed with how you draw Elphaba’s microbraids, would you mind giving a tutorial on them?
I can try, mostly it's about the general shape of the hair to begin with.. Since it's a big mass of small braids, it lays heavily around her head, pulling the top of her head somewhat flat and the bottom of her hair having the most volume, often starting from somewhere around her ears.
It's unnecessary to draw each individual braid, and instead you should focus on showing them on the spots in her hair that the light hits, like the top of her head, and to leave the shadows truly black.
I'd suggest just playing around with shapes and styles loosely, to get a feel for her hairstyles..!
Hope this gave some insight, and thank you for the compliment~!
more of your gorgeous Rog please please please _| ̄|○
Rog is a design opposite to Maeglin. Maeglin covers every inch of his skin because he feels vulnerable and Rog shows a lot of skin because he feels vulnerable. I wanted his design to feel more active and moveable while also being beautiful and showing his statue as a lord and one of the greatest Ñoldor smiths.
Man in thought
Finally finding a rendering style im satisfied with, now to work on my anatomy
Random art practice i was proud of

Hi, my name is RamonN90. I'm an illustrator and concept artist who loves bringing original characters to life in casual, everyday moments.
ive been wanting to make smth like this for a little while now and i finally finished it up ^_^ hopefully my tricks are helpful
EDITS: since this post is gaining a lot of traction, i want to highlight some of the suggestions and addendums that other people have made. i'm imperfect, which is why i recommend that you use references of real people along with my simple tips!
as many have pointed out, the yellow in the last diagram should cover the entire body, especially around the stomach area. the only parts of the body that are consistently bare are the palms of the hands and the bottoms of the feet
check out this reblog from @proxykiwi for a diagram of the distribution of hair on the back of the body
the texture of the hair can differ between the head and the body-- much of the time body and beard hair is curlier than the hair on the head
like when drawing head hair, its helpful to break up facial hair into descriptive shapes, and add lines for texture as needed. i tried to communicate that in the images, but i think its also useful to write it out
check out this reblog from @jodjuya for a detailed explanation of how beards tend to grow throughout teen-adult years
thank you to everyone who's suggested and added things! i encourage people to look through the replies and reblogs of this post for more information
HAIII. mutual very politely asked for tips on how 2 draw hairy bitches (read: body hair) n who am i to refuse if it means less bald pussy in the world...
it's been a long time since i did a 'tutorial' of any kind [and i wouldn't consider myself overly qualified, so you know, do ur own research] but i had a lot of fun making this <3 probably a million inaccuracies but we ball!!!
(edit: wait months later but i forgot to clarify the #bodynegativity was a joke. all bodies are good bodies. this is a joke about standards of conventional attractiveness and personal preferences bc people often discuss body hair as though it is disgusting and gross and also i made this at 3am on a random thursday. sosorrys...)
[feel free to repost elsewhere with credit !!!]
tried to make an example sheet of recent work and it's just all mista LMFAO sorryyyy

Three random studies
Studying up on how to render fur in a similar fashion to how they did in Super Smash Bros. Started with a ball of fur and then tried to recreate the fur on DK’s arm. Took a little over half an hour. Not perfect, but it’s probably as close as I can get given my current skill level. I imagine if I took more time to refine it, I could get it closer, but I figure this is enough practice to get me ready for a real character render.
