Part 1 of my code veronica redesign project that i technically started over 3 years ago, but only recently got any actual work done on (i am manifesting)

you're not annoying at all! honestly, its extremely flattering and i only wish i was better at giving tips so i could be more helpful 😭

but this looks awesome!!!! i think the hooves are an excellent design choice and you clearly already know a lot about anatomy! I dont think there's anything you need to change about anything, it's just a matter of practicing what you're already doing really well!

but if you'd like actual critique that is immediately actionable, I can certainly try my best to give a couple notes!

thank you!!! I like werewolves of all shapes and sizes so i try and be consistent when drawing, but i usually end up wanting to change designs on a whim all the time 😩

i think that, regardless of design, the most important thing to consider when drawing werewolves is the proportions! my headworld design is meant to have a vaguely bear-shaped silhouette. So, compared to a human, they have shorter legs, a longer torso, and generally thicker limbs.

so i think it can be easier to start with a reference of a human and modify it to suit your needs (lasso tool/transform/liquify/etc is great for adjusting proportions if you're working digitally). In my case, I also look at pictures of bears a lot lol.

But of course it's also important to understand how human anatomy works so you can translate it into a non-human shape! I really like the concept art for the order: 1886 because its very good at capturing the supernatural in a way that feels tactile (the sketches below are from Tobias Kwan, who has a bunch more werewolf/creature concepts that i think approach anatomy in a cool way)
