When Sirius finally asks Remus out on a date, he’s all too excited when Remus accepts. The only problem? Remus doesn’t realize it’s a date. Requested by an anon!

“Do you want to go to Hogsmeade with me?”

Not happy enough.

“Hey Moony! Let’s go to Hogsmeade together?”

Too desperate.

“You. Me. Hogsmeade. Sound good?”

As if it wasn’t possible to be any worse.

Sirius huffed, ruffling his hair with his fingers and pulling his robe straight, fixing his tie. His reflection didn’t change in the mirror; he was still the same red-flushed, wide-eyed boy as he was when he started this terrible rehearsal almost an hour ago. Leaning in close, his nose nearly brushing the mirror, Sirius held a sharp finger up to the glass.

“You can do this. You have to do this. This is your chance. You’re going to do this, and it’s going to go perfectly, and it’s going to be everything you’ve ever wanted,” he promised himself, his own ocean eyes piercing back at him. “He’s going to say yes and you’ll buy him his favorite chocolate scone and maybe at the end of the night you’ll even–”

“Who are you talking to?”

Knowing the people whose talent brings you such joy is such a surreal and beautiful experience. Getting to hold in your hands something that was created by someone you know and care for is amazing.

But brushing your teeth for 30 seconds is better than not brushing them at all when that 2 minutes seems exhausting.  Doing ten minutes of yoga is better than 10 minutes of sitting when 30 minutes of cardio sounds impossible.  Changing my clothes is good when a whole shower is impossible.  Standing on the porch for a few minutes is worth it after being in the house for three straight days because I don’t have the energy to go anywhere.

I must study politics and war, that our sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. Our sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history and naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry and porcelain.

and like,,,, this isn't a radical concept. a lot of hindus don't eat meat but they take care of cows, milk them by hand, and when the cows die of natural causes, they use the remains to make leather shoes and clothing. Indigenous peoples all over the world have so many very similar practices.
