I cannot stress this enough for the 2016 election
If Bernie loses the primaries: YOU STILL MUST VOTE
Tumblrâs become so attached to Bernie that Iâm not sure yâall are still gonna vote in the election if he loses. I will vote for him, I know most of you might too, but we must still be prepared for something like that :/ I know it would mean that you will have lost the one candidate you believed in the most. I know it will possibly mean voting for Hillary over the Republicans, when all of you donât like her that much, I understand, believe me.
BUT HEREâS WHY YOU STILL VOTE:
1. Because are you going to give the Republicans a greater chance of victory?
I know it seems like HRC and the Republicans are one in the same to most of you, but if both HRC and the GOP REALLY dislike each other? You can tell thatâs not exactly true. Granted when compared to Bernie, Hillary seems conservative, but Bernieâs super liberal where Clinton reflects most of the party, center-left, like Obama. Sheâs not the progressive you all want, but she sure as hell ainât conservative. Bernie has positive things to say about Hillary, and, letâs face it, she is still a better choice than any GOP candidate.
2. Not voting means you are still deciding who has a better chance of winning in the election, donât be fooled.
Donât think that Bernie not winning the Dem nomination means that there is no hope at all for change and that voting for any Democrat is useless, if you donât vote, you give the Republicans a greater chance of winning, just like I said above. And you know what? Good. Because thatâs exactly what they want. Why would they want young people voting if it means they might vote Democrat? Think about that hard.
3. BECAUSE BERNIE WANTS YOU TO.
Seriously, he released a whole video on how âelites want big money to dominate the political processâ and this:
And he KNOWS they donât want that. You will not be making a positive change if you donât vote, hence he is saying you will make the problem worse, if you avoid voting.
This is not only for this election. It is 2016 and beyond. Donât forget that, please.
ALSO VOTE FOR SENATORS. VOTE FOR CONGRESSPEOPLE. VOTE FOR GOVERNORS AND STATE SENATORS AND LEGISLATORS. RESEARCH THE CANDIDATES. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. VOTING ISNâT JUST FOR PRESIDENT. THE REST OF THE RACES CAN BE EVEN MORE IMPORTANT IN TOTAL.
If you really hate Clinton, I canât tell you not to refrain from voting for her (though do you really want to increase the chances of Trump/Rubio/Cruz/Carson getting elected?), but look at the other things on the ballet. Policy begins at home, and every race matters.
I mean you could be like âoh this elected county clerk position doesnât matterâ
and end up with Kim Davis
So research. And vote. Every year.
