Consumers of CSAM will never truly "face the consequences" of their actions, because the victims are already bearing the consequences. Spending a few years in prison does not change that reality, for the few who do.

CSAM is an industry. Many children spend years being repeatedly victimized for content. Production is often planned and organized. Somebody's "mistake" or "rut they fell into" or "struggle with porn addiction" was my childhood being tortured, trained, and raped on camera countless times. If someone watched content of me at age 12, they were watching the same child who had been trained, victimized, and exploited since her second birthday.
