Vee is Team Sam

I once again want it know that I love Sinister with full awareness he’s a horrific character. I don’t remotely condone anything he does, I find him fascinating as a villain. He’s fucking awful, and if that’s who’s plying him, then that’s twenty five years I’ve been waiting for any sign of him in live action down the drain. I get to see him turned into a misunderstood woobie by half of fandom, because the actor is fucking tall.

As opposed to the vast number of men in the film, where only five are below forty, dropping to four by the time the film is released as Winston Duke is 40 in November.

Let’s look at how five out of the six X-Men in the movie are men over 50. They’ve also brought back one woman in her fifties, who is obviously the one who will die horribly because she was a ‘villain’. They had Storm, Jean, Rogue from the original XMCU, but nope, we’ll add parody Gambit, because we don’t have enough dudes.

Why aren’t more people fucked off about this shit? When are we going to see an actress in her 40’s or 50’s take on a new multiple film superhero role and actually see it followed through on? Why do people say “oh well it’s a long term role, they won’t cast someone older” when I complain about no older female heroes, when a 50 year old (white) man takes on a new superhero role, nobody bats an eyelid?

I saw MCR for the first time three weeks after The Black Parade was released - yes, I’m old - in a tiny venue, and seeing the twentieth anniversary tour at a sold out Wembley Stadium was nuts.
